  1. Have you looked at Boyd's stock, they have some funky ones which might fit your bill specially if you can do some wood working.
  2. Welcome and thank you for your service. Hey you use what you can handle, a 10/22 with a 25 round magazine isn't something I'd want to face.
  3. She is doing very well seems to be mending nicely, and with very little pain, which is very important because she has no pain tolerance at all. I think she is looking forward to doing things she hasn't been able to do for quite some time. now she'll be able to go back to craft fairs, gun shows and to the range.
  4. Welcome to the group. Sorry I can't help you with the question.
  5. Glad you joined us!
  6. As a bit past novice shotgunner, I carried a Remington 870 (great gun) in the Air Force for many years & I prefer pumps for the following reasons. -Generally cheaper -Ease of operation -Ease of maintenance -Usually not picky about ammo -Also my choice for home defense gun I personally like the Mossberg 500 series because there is so much after-market accessories for it. Likewise I like 870, just haven bought one yet. I couldn't give you a reason not to go with a Benelli Supernova, except a bit pricey for me, I've shot one an it is an excellent gun. I know nothing about the escort line.
  7. Hey isn't making post titled GROUPIES without scantily clad babes a violation of net etiquette
  8. Hey if you like those small challenging targets this site has a bunch http://www.targetz.com/index.htm Couple of my favorites 2889_0661ddf2b68282b1c320a00d82035398e72eb6c2.pdf 2890_47d3a1a8c2b9ca54550cdaa2f50833e054198180.pdf
  9. A little info on the original plant. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Peters_Cartridge_Company
  10. Fun time shooting. Took my Citadel 3.5" .45acp and my Browning Buckmark which I shot at paper plates from 3 to 25 yards. Also had my 10/22 and was shooting at spinner metal targets out to about 50 yards, which is a far as we shoot in our Tactical rimfire Matches, but my spinners are smaller than most of our metal targets in the match.
  11. I think the step-kid is off so I'm going shooting, she can take care of the wife for the day.
  12. I have Boresnakes for most of the calibers I shoot. I usually use Hoppe's 9 also if it is warm enough for me to be in the garage with the door partially open. For when I can't clean in the garage keep the Gunslick foaming bore cleaner around and for those times I skip cleaning after each shooting session.
  13. Wellcome to the group.
  14. If I could find that price here I'd be all over it. The only shop I found it in here wanted $48 a box. i can buy PMC cheaper than that.
  15. I think vigilantes are going to have to make a comeback!
  16. A new cocktail is sweeping the country. It's Called "The Bin Ladin" 2 shots and a splash of water! >:D
  17. Zippos have always been tactical, they were developed for the GIs.
  18. It amazes me people who were not involved in wars can seem to be the ones who harbor the longest lasting animosity. Germany today is not that Germany anyone who has ever been there can plainly see it. I lived there in the mid 60s for 3 years and then again in the late 70s.
  19. Spork http://www.cheaperthandirt.com/TAC090-1.html
  20. I've heard guys complain about them here (we average 300+ days of bright sunshine a year). My only experience with laser is on my 1911A1 which has Crimson Trace laser grips on it. It is my first grab for nighttime home defense, but when I take it to the range I can see the dot out to at least 15 yards which is about as far as I practice and train with it.
  21. sorry it was American Handgunner July/August issue. I got my two magazines together this month and confused which was which.
  22. Guns magazine has an article on the Clark company founder.
  23. I know there are a couple of other history buffs in the group and after seeing a small blurb about Claude Choules on the news I decided to check for a more complete story on him. This is what I found. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Claude_Choules
  24. Looks like a fun set-up. I have a Marlin 925 bolt-action I like to plink with.
