Well, Tuesday was in the high 40's, I finally got the outdoor Christmas lights down & put away - they had been encased in icicles since January. I actually worked outside a bit. Currently getting hammered by yet one more snow storm - 6 to 8 inches by tonight. At least I didn't put the snow blower away. :o
The barrel nut confused me, but apparently the M4 Ops version of the Colt that came with an OEM free-float rail has a different barrel nut. Instead of a nut that looks similar to a standard AR nut, it is threaded on the inside and outside for the quad OEM rail.
Welcome to Tac22! The 7" should fit fine. The Troy airsoft rail comes with a new barrel nut (mine did) which you will need to change out if you have the M4 version with the free float rail. Have to remove the front sight to do that. And you will need an armorer's wrench to tighten the new nut. If you have the M-16 version, it looks as if you won't have to change the nut. TM
Here is a pic of my Gamo Whisper. (My urban backyard-critter-gitter) The integrated "suppressor" is (IMHO) a bit of hype, but it does make a handy handle for cocking. I changed out the spring for a gas charged upgrade. Very nice - no more spring twang or torque, but the darn thing is much more powerful now. It blew out the little blue baffles in the "suppressor". I also swapped out the trigger with one of Charlie-da-Tuna's GRT's, also very nice and well worth the $$.
Here is my first rifle. Got it about....1962? Still works, all original parts, I just pump some 20W oil in it once or twice a year, and I still use it to pester the squirrels. ;D
I am looking to sink a few $$ into a new rifle cleaning station. Needs to be able to accommodate an AR, legacy rifles and shotguns. I have seen some out there that cost as much as a gun.... What do you use and do you like it?
:thumb: Looks great! I am confused about your barrel nut though. Perhaps my older Colt is different. My OEM nut is very different than an AR nut, I had to change it out when I went to a Troy battle rail. Welcome to Tac22!
Tal, What do you think of AutoTune? What does one need to get started with it? Just for personal use. Saw a few videos and it seemed quite interesting. Thanks! TM
