  5. +1 on what Rodent said. It's not hard, I used an AR15 vise block, One of These, or you can use a Bench Block to support the rifle. (You can do it without those blocks, it's just a good excuse to order AR tools and/or other stuff from Brownells) Use a 1/8" diameter pin punch, and a small brass hammer. Drive the roll pin, (rear trigger guard pin), out from the right side of the rifle - it just takes a few very light taps and it doesn't even have to come all of the way out. As soon as the pin clears the trigger guard, it will swing down. The front pin is a captive spring loaded affair, just use your pin punch and press the front pin in and pull the trigger guard out. Reverse procedure to re-install. (Your mileage may vary) TM PS - If you do order from Brownells, use the link at the top - lowered shipping costs on orders above $125, don't forget to enter the code at check-out.
  6. Mmmm. Thin Barrel. (Wheels turning)
  7. Yes.
  8. Ammo Shortage Hits Police Departments Isn't this just peachy.
  9. Well, yeah.
  10. Heh. Know what ya mean, I used to go the the fish hatchery near where I lived in California, it was a cool place to take kids - water, and fish they could throw food to. Stopped there once on the way back from an actual fishing trip, I walked all over the hatchery with a fishing pole over my shoulder. After just a few minutes I had a F&G employee following me. I thought it was funny. Apparently Fish & Game employees have no sense of humor. Hey Smurff, don't forget the big plastic drop cloth.
  11. Hi Hitman and welcome!
  12. I hear ya buddy.
  13. Good news, but it's not over as long as that witch keeps getting elected. And I do not trust dingy Harry.
  14. Thanks, pretty basic, but it will be a good training rifle for the AR platform. Her next one will be fancy. ;D
  15. That'll work! Something about the sound of an 870 racking that increases the bad guy's pucker factor......

    First AR build

The Sweetie wanted an AR, and is real big on Vietnam era looks, I thought she would enjoy a carbine length more than a 20". This is one of the synthetic lowers that I picked up. Went together well, fit is A-OK. Was going to go sight it in, but it rained and sleeted all day. I am stuck in the garage with a new rifle, and no where to go.
  17. From Optics Planet's web site, shipping info: "How do I correctly enter an address outside the United States, including U.S. Territories and Military addresses? For United States Territories (Puerto Rico, Guam, American Samoa, U.S. Virgin Islands, Northern Mariana Islands and U.S. Minor Outlying Islands) Enter the territory abbreviation in the "State" field Enter United States in the "Country" field" I am guessing that they will help you out, I have always gotten great service from them. TM
  18. I'd hold it for ransom. You could post a picture of it, then shoot a few rounds and post pics of the empty brass. Then up the price. Of course I have a real low sense of humor too. :o
  19. Excellent job Michael! Thanks to you and your compadres. :thumb:
