  1. I hear ya!!! :thumb:
  2. A very long list, so just posting the link. http://130.94.182.159/gun_nut.htm Enjoy!
  3. After reading a post that Drew put up on this subject, zero to low power should work. No higher than 4x I believe is what I read.
  4. At this point, it's just a little chlorine in the gene pool. ;D

Working in Ohio...... http://www.cheaperthandirt.com/ Have you asked your ISP about it? I ran into internet censorship at a Hardies on the Ohio turnpike - my phone switched from 4G to free wi-fi there, and wouldn't let me get to Tac22.net
  6. Well, I am confused. My Colt M4's OD is 1.129" (28.7mm) measured across the threaded part of the tube. My AR's OD is: 1.162" (29.5mm) measured across the threaded part of the tube. I have several AR sling plates and they all measure ID = 1.18" (30mm) The sling plates that I have are too big for my Colt, they won't stay locked to the notch in the tube. Glad to hear you found one that works Dan - do you remember where you got it?
  7. I like it. >:D
  8. Well that is cool, you must have one of the newer Colts, I see it has the 90 degree safety. If you get the chance, could you measure the diameter of the buffer tube at the threads? I want to compare it to mine, wondering if they changed the diameter. Thanks!
  9. No, It must be a migration. Didn't think they were nocturnal... Umm, I was thinking of a $20 bill on a string....
  10. I never tried a sling on mine, as I usually bench shoot. An AR sling plate is too big for the Colt, the ID is way too large. Which I am sure you already found out. I can't be sure, but THIS might work. Email them to ask, they might need the Colt's tube diameter. Let us know! TM
  11. Thank you and back at ya!
  12. So, I have the day off, (It's my day off for Veterans Day), I am home alone, it's about 22:30, out in the garage and I hear a scream. Roadie-the-mutt and I run out front with a PPD (personal protection device) and a red line flash. Car parked across the street, lights out. In front of the car are two teen aged girls with their pants down around their ankles. Ever quick on the uptake, I stated in a loud voice: "Uh what are you doing"? They hobbled to the car, got in & it sped off with the lights off. I think that from now on, I will grab a camera when I hear a scream. :o
  13. Imagine if you will, TSA screeners with guns....
  14. It won't be your local law enforcement that does the deed. Social Security admin has swat teams, hell - the department of education has it's own armed "police" force - STORY LINK. All park rangers are armed, armed Michigan DNR forces raided farms this year and forced farmers to kill their pigs because they were an "invasive species" (DNR denies this) but there are reports and pictures on the web. </tinfoil hat> This is interesting.... "According to the Bureau of Justice Statistics' latest (2008) Census of Federal Law Enforcement Officers, the combined federal government agencies employ about 120,000 full-time law enforcement officers who are authorized to carry firearms and make arrests. That is roughly the equivalent of 40 officers per 100,000 U.S. residents. By comparison, there is one member of the U.S. Congress per 700,000 residents." :o
  15. Yeah, that's the plan. But we are out numbered now. Have you seen the red/blue map? I think we need a big quake in LA, and a bigger storm in New York.
  16. I am going to have to order one or two. Probably after Christmas.
  17. It's not difficult to remove the trigger pack, or get it all back together. Loosen the flash hider, drive out the two pins to separate the lower from the upper. Gently pry the safety lever out with two small straight blade screw drivers - don't scratch anything - the safety is held in with spring detents. Look inside where the safety lever came from and you will see a small black triangle. Using a small punch and plastic mallet, tap on the black triangle. The other side of the safety will pop off. Remove the pistol grip and the trigger group should slide right out. Reverse procedure for assembly, except: leave the pistol grip screw loose until the gun is fully re-assembled, and the flash hider is tight. Then tighten the pistol grip and all will be good. TM
  18. Quality shows - sometime you should start a thread on just why an expensive digital camera takes better pics than a cheaper one. Is it the lenses, sensor, pixel processing, all of the above? Very dramatic pictures.
  19. Great pictures - what kind of camera did you use?
  20. I took the day off - scheduled vacation, going to "pull the lever", then out to the range. Taking a .308 and a few 9mms. Then home to clean guns, eat pizza and watch the returns with the Sweetie.
  21. Ran across this - it is very interesting. Scroll down past the shotgun tools. I had not heard of measuring rims before, I had always understood weight was how to screen/sort .22 ammo. I like the looks of the tools to make wad-cutters and hollow points. http://www.pacotools.com/tool_discriptions
  22. This is scary. WW and I agree on something!!!!! HERE is one at CTD. :o
  23. Cool, the "Isotopes"? That is very good! I don't follow much during the regular season anymore. I lived in CA for 30 years and went to several Giants games every year. Candlestick was a fun park. We do go the MudHens games here in Toledo. They are a farm team of the Tigers. We have a brand new park in Toledo, and it doesn't cost body parts to go. Too much fun! Mmmm, Hot dogs and peanuts.......
  24. Well, I sit corrected. Amazon has 1 inch brushes. LINK And I recommend this for a rod - LINK. It is very important to remember: Do not remove the flash hider for cleaning. If you remove the flash hider and push a cleaning rod down the bore from the muzzle end, the barrel will come loose from the slide housing, and at best a spring and small pin will come loose. At worst the spring will be damaged and the slide (bolt) will no longer lock open on an empty mag. Then you will also have to fully disassemble the internals to set it right.
  25. Alright, another Colt guy!!!
