I put a grip pod on my AR, and that shrunk my groups by 30 to 40%. (when using the pod) The other big improvement for me was switching from 55 to 62gn bullets.
Yes there is Mr. Smurf, but not sure it would fit on this gun. With the Colt, there is a relationship between the upper, lower, barrel, flash hider, slide housings, pins and the pistol grip. This problem usually occurs after an owner either removes the pistol grip, replaces the grip with one for an actual AR, or if the grip just gets loose. The flash hider is actually a barrel nut, and is used to draw the entire rifle together, and one must tighten it to the same torque setting after every cleaning in order to get repeatable accuracy. To resolve the actual problem, (with the rifle fully assembled and the flash hider loosened 2.5 turns), you have to loosen the pistol grip screw, then tighten the flash hider, then tighten the pistol grip screw. To get the flash hider tightened the same every time, I used a center punch to put a small dimple TDC on the flash hider so it gets tightened to the exact same point every time. TM
I have never had any problems getting parts for my Colt. The owner's manual has all the part #s, and I have successfully ordered parts via email HERE. What happened to the slide housing?
Welcome to the forum. The 10-22 has a lot to be said for it, and there are tons of aftermarket accessories. There is even a kit to turn it into a Thompson! Kinda depends what you want, and what you want to spend.
I have the M4 ops, and you won't find anything to fit it except airsoft accessories. Of course, airsoft stuff is pretty cool. I put a licensed Troy battle rail on my Colt, I can't see any difference from the actual Troy battle rail on my AR. I think the ops and carbine have the same receiver, so if you remove the front sight, delta ring, ect - you will get to a threaded receiver - airsoft rails should fit fine. Check some out HERE. Of course all I know for certain is that the Troy rail fits my M4. Do your homework. And a warning - if you remove your front sight, it will leave a great big hole in the barrel shroud. Yes, the rail in the picture is an airsoft rail.
