  1. Looks to be quite a few different results in this thread. I have had good results with Federal Bulk Packs, with one exception - a really bad box - and when contacted by e-mail, Federal immediately offered to replace the box at no cost to me. I don't use CCI much, just because of the cost vs bulk ammo, and the (for me) modest difference in accuracy. I can get Federal for .04/round, and CCI for .06/round. As for the residue after shooting, I have not noticed much difference between the two - I will have to pay more attention to that, I guess. I just figure that since the primer material contains ground up glass, all .22's require periodic cleaning to get the grit out. (the glass is there in order to fire the primer - no anvil in a rim fire) I think it was someone here at Tac.22 that suggested weighing .22 rounds and grouping them by weight for more accurate shooting. Have not done that, but there is a difference of .5 gn between a random 10 round sample of Federal bulk, but only a .3 gn difference between 10 rounds of CCI. But then, it IS bulk ammo. My favorite .22lr ammo for consistency and accuracy is BVAC - but it does have a number of rounds that fail to fire. I bought this BVAC during the great ammo shortage, and assume it was a QC issue during that time. The FTFs that I took apart showed the primer material had cracked and mixed with the powder. Just my .04 worth. TM Forgot to mention, CCI has a fun game at their website. GAME
  2. I purchased 1 box of Federal AutoMatch last summer, 40 gn lead rn. I was not impressed with it's performance in my Colt. I get much better accuracy @ 50 yds with the Federal Bulk, which is plated 36 gn hp. TM
  3. Hi Jimbo!
  4. Hello to you both!
  5. I am lucky to have the ONLY muzzle brake in the world that threads directly onto the Colt/Umarex series rifles. That is, until someone else buys one. ;D Mr. Mike Peak of http://www.peaktactical.com made this up for me, and it is sweet. It did change the point of impact from the OEM comp, but once I dialed in the scope it proved to be just plain accurate. I don't know what he is planning to charge for them, but check them out. :thumb: TM
  6. Welcome Doc, sounds like a fun project!
  7. Some people collect guns, some shoot guns. Some are just "gun snobs".
  8. Hello to another Colt owner!
  9. Anyone seen or have this model??
  10. Howdy - "his - n - hers" seems to work for me & mine... ;D
  11. Those are fun to shoot! :thumb:
  12. Howdy!
  13. Just curious, what flavor of ammo are you shooting?

  15. Nice job!!! :thumb:
  16. This is my Colt with the new muzzle brake from Peak Tactical - attaches directly to the Colt, no adapter needed. It did change the point of impact from the OEM flash hider, but after dialing it in, quite accurate at 50yds. :thumb: TM
  17. Welcome!
  18. Excellent!
  19. I ended up getting 3 Kindles this year. One for the Sweetie, one for my Daughter/Grandaughter - played with that one a bit to load some Christmas books, and decided to get one for myself. I like the fact that I can "get" books for it from the local public library. :thumb:
  20. I have 4 days off! Family at home Christmas, in-laws (good ones) coming day after. Hope to get to the range sometime, have to test fire the new Sig P238, Micro Eagle, a Marlin .22WMR and the new Taurus .17 Tracker.

  22. Thanks guys, Traditional scope - 1 Red Dot - 1 That was easy, I'll just have to order one of each. ;D TM
  23. Just picked up a Taurus Tracker in .17HMR, came with a scope mounted, but it is a rifle scope. (I don't know why) So, what's your advice for a good pistol scope? I am thinking red dot, and the scope has to have a silver finish to match the pistol. Thanks, TM
