  1. Hi Trent - Where in Oregon do you hail from? Welcome! TM
  2. No, no bikes, but a tractor in the driveway.
  3. Duh - Takes me awhile...... I have a multi-function work bench. Gunsmithing and computer repair. ;D TM
  4. - Mine's bigger? ::) Heh
  5. Ah, The wifey was gone for good. The house turned into a real "man-cave". (drool-off) TM

    Ruger LCP

AhHa - Finally tracked down that mouse gun! ;DTM
  7. Course, that was after his wifey left....... Also forgot to mention the reloading bench in the next room. TM
  8. Cool stuff guys. I had a buddy that lived outside Beaverton Oregon. He had a shooting bench set up in his family room, and would just open the slider and shoot on his 100 yd range. Snowmobile down range to replace targets. (heavy sigh) TM
  9. Notes to self: Winter Gillie suit; winter rifle wrap; butt warmer; lol. I am in Ohio, which is where I "grew up". But I spent 30 years in Kalifornia. We kept the snow up on the mountains where it belongs. ;D TM
  10. OOOH! Moving targets!!!! What a GREAT idea! TM
  11. Very nice job!!!!!! :thumb TM
  12. Damn Algore - I wish we HAD some warming! I get my Colt out and set it on my workbench, and remember how much fun it was to shoot. The club I belong to has an indoor range, but it is only 25 yds. Not much fun when I am used to nailing bulls @ 100yds. What do you guys do in the winter? TM
  13. It is off-set with plenty of room to load. TM PS - I'll get it back out of the gun locker and take a couple more pics to show the off-set. I have also installed "The Device" And it is GREAT! No more M1 thumb!! It also stops the automatic ejection of the clip after the 8th round. Check it out HERE I highly recommend it. TM
  14. Neato Smurf man! :thumb:
  15. I don't think you will go wrong with that choice. Mine was refurbished at some point in the past, and worked ok out of the box, except for ejecting the clip and the 8th round after the 7th was fired, and the target looked like a shotgun blast rather than a group. Also had a cracked handguard... All fixed now. TM
  16. Peep sights and tri-focals are a bitch.
  17. The bald eagle has made a big come-back in Ohio. PICS Most impressive predator! TM
  18. Oh, and when you get one - they WILL need work. 1st investment should be "Precision Shooting With the M1 Garand" by Roy Baumgardner. Really! This guy knows it all. TM
  19. You won't regret it - best battle rifle there is!
  20. The club thing was just dues in the California Rifle & Pistol Association. At the time, one also had to take part in a high power competition. The Folsom Shooting Club did a fantastic job - 12 hours Sat & Sun at the 1000 yd range in Ione California. Saturday was instruction, ect, ect. Sunday was competition. Also had to take turns in the pits scoring targets. They provided the rifles - Garands - ammo and coaches. Was a very positive event. Except for the friction burns on my elbows and a bad case of M1 thumb..... http://sacvalley.org/ TM
  21. I do too! - I got all the cans! http://www.thecmp.org/m1garand.htm Still some left! :thumb: TM
  22. Yep - Got my Garand from the CMP, then DCM for $250 in 1992. :thumb: I have seen the scout type scope mounts - but they tend to block the iron sights. The Garands are so much fun to shoot - was at a quarry in northern California, bunch of guys having a day shoot. Some one had the idea of hanging some cans in a small tree, and shooting off hand at the cans from 50 yds. Hit a can - win $10. I went last and aimed at the tree trunk. 8 rounds of 30-06 chopped it down - I thought I would get paid for all the cans...... ::) TM
  23. I found a scope mount for my M1 that does not require modification to the receiver. I also did not want to lose iron sight functionality. This mount requires removal of the rear sight, and clamps into the rear sight mount. It has a peep sight adjustable for elevation. I was a bit disappointed, as I had to mill a new slot in the weaver mount in order to use my scope of choice. I also had to adjust a few clearances in the mount itself to get it to fit my Garand. The bluing is very poor, and I will dura-coat it to match the M1's parkerizing. I also need to get one of the lace on leather cheek pieces for the M1. But all that aside - can't wait till spring to get it out to the range!!!! TM
  24. The front sight on the Clot/Umarex .22 is pinned to the barrel sleeve. I removed mine, as I only use optics with it. It does not remove easily, and I had to dura coat the sleeve as it got marred during sight fs removal. The barrel sleeve is removable, I just don't remember how. (getting old sucks) Next time I take mine apart, I will post pics. TM

    Ruger LCP

Well, pick up was no problem. LCP in good shape - have not made it to the range yet. Ended up getting 2 holsters from the seller for an extra $50, plus 100 rounds of target ammo. Not bad for $450. ;D
