  1. It's a matter of choice- the primer compounds in use now are non-corrosive, so cleaning is not required immediately.
  2. Tal you could spend your money on wine, women or song. But instead you are being RESPONSIBLE and taking up a hobby which most times is enjoyed AT HOME. Reloading is the same. When your bride is reading or knitting or whatever, you can be reloading, cleaning out your gunlocker, or just shining them while spending QUALITY TIME with HER....
  3. I have the 15/22 Pistol version. Other than a minor wipe n swab before firing there were no issues regarding machining debris or polymer flashing. All operating parts were really crisp and clean, nothing to be noted. Swab the barrel and oil the bolt and fire that thing! Good Shooting!
  4. Check out the Spikes ET-1 can, threaded 1/2X28.
  5.
  6. no- just curious
  7. Well some of these Colts are hitting the 2 year plus mark- anyone with any finish issues? Mine is just like the day I got it, no corrosion or peeling or thin spots.
  8. the Spikes ET-1 can (threaded 1/2X28) is a screw on length adding item. 1 1/4'' diameter X 6'' long. It ADDS the length to to your barrel. So the outside diameter of the thread adapter would be immaterial. A reverse flash suppressor hides 3'' of the barrel length, one without holes sure looks a lot like a can. The thread adapter must be turned down a little to fit inside the suppresor. A drill, a file and a bolt and nut to use as an arbor is simple and works well. DPMS sells a nice one pretty cheap.
  9. dangeroso- Nice!!!!
  10. Now THAT is a good idea! What you can do when you can SEE it!!!! ;D
  11. Wheel, PVD (post vitreous detachment) is when the vitreous (egg white-like fluid in the eye)becomes detached from the retina. This jellylike fluid can tear the retina or detach it, causing serious eye problems. Most times it doesn't hurt anything, other than having ''floaters'' in your vision or a sense of having a semi-transparent ''shower curtain'' blur moving across your vision for a second or so. Sudden light flashes or large spagetti-like floaters in your vision are cause for concern. PVD is not uncommon in catarac surgery veterans.
  12. after having both of my eyes done starting at age 48, I understand how happy you are over this miracle. To have lived in a dimly lit world for any length of time is something that only sufferers of this condition can really understand. Pulling the patch off and seeing crystal clear sight is something that cannot be described. PVD is something to watch out for down the road, and detached retinas are a real possibility. Not to rain on your parade, but I've had both develop since my lens replacements. This is a common happening after catarac surgery. Make certain any sudden eye change is looked at immediately, 'cause a detached retina can take your eyesight very quickly.

  19. I'm looking to buy a Kirst Converter gated ring and cylinder for my Uberti Walker. The conversion I did on my Dragoon has been so much fun that I can't resist doing the Walker. It will be the same setup Robert Duval used in Lonesome Dove.
  20. TM how did your 9mm Llama work out? Was it polished or matte finish?
