Old friends gone, I am sorry for you. Congrats on the new addition. I would also suggest a shovel when she reaches full size....

I gotta tell you guys get your wives one of those big feathered fans with the broomhandle attached. She can get a good swing and really move some air while you're having a cold one.....

Here is a '62 Pocket Police and the '48 Dragoon, about identical but for size. Notice the right recoil shield on the smaller Pocket Police. The shield has a small groove to facilitate capping the nipples. When a conversion is done that groove must be cut out large enough for the cartridges to be loaded into the cylinder, see the cut I made on the Dragoon. The original BP cylinder with the nipples is shown with the new cartridge cylinder. The differences are pretty apparent. It's not a difficult job, but ya gotta be CAREFUL.....LOL You know, that Pocket Police could be converted to .38 centerfire....

Well guys I finally had time to cut the right recoil shield for the loading gate on my new black powder pistol. It's a beautiful gun and this Kirst cylinder and loading gate are a PERFECT match for it. The Kirst converts the .44 cap and ball revolver to a .45 Long Colt centerfire. The cartridges MUST be Cowboy Action type charges, 1000 FPS or less. Since I reload for my Vaqueros this conversion for the same ammo was a no brainer. This cylinder was a drop-in, NO timing or fit issues. Beautiful fit and finish. My cut came out well, a 1/2'' carbide grinding bit and an air drill worked very well, about 30 minutes of grinding and another hour of progressively finer sandpaper to polish the cut. Swirl a little cold blue and it blends the cut right into the case-hardened finish. I am EXTREMELY pleased with my result. I'll be shooting the grips off it this afternoon....

Smurff careful is the word. I'm converting my pistols to .45 Colt cartridges loaded down to SASS specs. I received my Dragoon conversion cylinder today. I have to cut a loading port in the right recoil shield and fit the cylinder. Will post my progress.

Shooting impressions: The S&W M&P 22
rodent.22 replied to 44terryberry's topic in S&W M&P 15-22 General
Yeah what a problem....LOL I have the C/U OPS and the M&P Pistol and I couldn't choose between the two. These pictures are my Colt/Umarex and my buddies Armalite AR 15 together. Besides the Shark flash hider and the magazine there is no difference. He cannot tell the difference with his eyes closed. Same weight, feel, etc. -
Sounds great Ski! :thumb:

Fact is- When times get bad in the car business my pay is CUT. In a lot of other businesses also. ALL tax-supported institutions, government or collegiate, cut the services people, janitors and maintenance. The higher ups go swilling to the public TROUGH for more money, to support themselves at THEIR present levels of income. If the level of tax revenue is lowered by 30%, then by God and gunpowder drop ALL their pay by 30%. It would be less unemployment and the budgets would be balanced. The free ride for these bastards needs to be OVER....

Here is my new Uberti .44 Dragoon from my bride. Bought it last June, she's had title. I found the Uberti .22 Rolling Block last Christmas and jumped it in front of this one. I bought a Uberti Walker Colt .44 in Salt Lake City last week, I'll get it this Christmas. I added the 1911 for scale. This Dragoon weighs 4.1 pounds.... I ordered a new Kirst Konverter gated cylinder today, I'll be shooting .45 Colt cartridges soon...
