I went to a local shop "Carter's Country" last week. Plenty of Ammo, AR's, and hand guns in stock. Though the prices were HIGH. Gold Cup in stock but wanted $1350 for it. I let it pass.

Why do I shoot 22lr? Because it's cheap and easy to take 1 or 2 bricks to the range and practice. When the price of 22LR is almost the same as 9mm or even 45 ACP, Hell..I just shoot 9 and 45. Hopefully this stuff will end soon. Not much reason to have a 1911 22LR, when the price of the ammo is almost the same as 45 ACP. On a positive note shotgun shells are widely available and cheap. Box of 100, 12 guage, 8 shot about $20. A thrower is only about $50 or so. The clays are about $5 for a 100. About every week or so, I'm at the range with my Weatherby semi auto with my son, and we're popping off 100 to 200 shells. I also have taken my old 870 and my Mossberg 500 out on occasion, and have reminde myself why I bought them. As for the Weatherby, not the most high class semi out there, but it's turned out to be a great introductory shotgun to the sport of clays, and has been very reliable with about 5000 rounds fired through it and no failures.

Totally agree. But don't you think all this division in the country being caused by King Obamo!!!! Instead of tackling the "Real" issues of the country, (Jobs, High Unemployment, Taxes, Obamacare, energy policy and the deficit), he chooses to champion the most divisive issues in the country, and anybody that disagrees with him is somehow unamerican. I guess he has decided he can force people to do what he wants, even when, through their representatives, the people have spoken and disagreed with him. Until this administration I have never voted straight ticket. He and his cronies have made it easy for me to go in and just pull the "R" lever.

Of course the few people that remain, with the exception of the minorty like our admin, can sit around and congratluate themselves on how intellectually superior they are to the rest of the country. Must be tough to be a a polictical minority up there Imschur? In retrrospect, it was probably a good thing I turned down a hell of a salary and moving package, about 10 years ago, to move up there. If you infringe upon the Second Amendment’s absolute protections, you will be removed from office’ WASHINGTON – Congressman Steve Stockman today reinforced his intentions to use a “blue slip†to kill any Senate anti-gun bill that contains expanded background checks. Stockman will also deliver U-Haul gift cards to the offices of Mark Begich, Mark Pryor, Mary Landrieu, Kay Hagan and Max Baucus should they vote for the package, to help with move-out expenses after they are defeated by voters in 2014. “A requirement to make citizens submit to a background check imposes a tax. Such legislation cannot originate in the Senate. The bill is automatically unconstitutional,†said Stockman. “Constitutional rights don’t require permission slips. According to The Heritage Foundation, background check mandates imposes a new tax by forcing individuals to pay for background checks when selling or giving away a firearm. The mandate to use the National Instant Criminal Background Check System does not provide a service to the buyer or seller but to the government, making it a tax. Additionally, the Supreme Court ruled last year in NFIB v. Sebelius that mandating citizens to pay for a service can be construed to be a tax, with Chief Justice John Roberts writing the majority opinion expanding the federal definition of a tax.

The President is not an absolute ruler, and his actions and orders can be checked and balanced by the Congress and the courts – if the Congress is willing. That is why I ask you to please contact your elected representatives at House.gov and Senate.gov and politely urge them to support legislative efforts to overturn and defund the president’s Orders, and to defeat his legislative proposals. The right to keep and bear arms is a basic human right that has kept us free for over two centuries.
