Michigan Joe
I wanted to buy a rail for my Marlin Model 60. Got it for $7.50 at Amazon. Also picked up a red dot sight cheap. They have all kinds of shooting stuff there at good prices and free shipping of you belong to their club or whatever they call it. They have a thirty day free trial on the free shipping membership. I was just surprised to find the shooting stuff there at good prices. Who knew? Actually, they partner with normal shooting supply stores and have them drop ship the goods, so you're not putting anyone out of business by buying there. (No, I don't work there or have stock in Amazon.)

Madhouse
Be careful of possible knock-off stuff on there, but yeah, they have a ton of shooting/gun stuff.http://tactical22.net/forum/index.php/topic,533.0.html
imschur
Amazon has grown by leaps and bounds in the shooting area. Even most Brownells, Optics Planet, Sportsmans Guide and Combat Optical products are there.Im a member of the Amazon Prime. I love it. Eligible items are free 2 day shipping or 3.99 per item next day including Saturdays. Keep in mind some of the marketplace stuff has its own rules. I have had nothing but good luck with Amazon and the marketplace sellers. Most stuff sold by Amazon directly has a great return policy. So when unsure about an item I use Amazon. asmurff
Amazon is also a good source for holsters and grips.

Michigan Joe
I posted a few pictures of the Picatinny rail attachment and the Leapers Red/Green dot sight I got from Amazon in the Optics forum. I was pretty excited that I could get the sight and rail inexpensively so I would not feel guilty about spending a lot putting the sight and rail on an equally inexpensive gun. The rail attachment is really solid and nice. Fit right on the scope grooves and hangs there like it was welded to the receiver. Neat. Came with an extra Allen wrench and some screws. Don't know what the screws are for. Kept them just in case.
FS2KSTD
Hey Joe ... what UTG scope rail did you order for your Marlin 60? Got a part #? I want to order the same one for my Marlin 700. Thanks for any info.

FS2KSTD
Thanks for the assist fellas. What confuses me about the situation is this ... my Marlin Model 700 dovetail is 3/8" or 0.375 which equals 9.525mm. I would think the 11mm mount might be loose and suffer from "rail walk" when shooting? I have read about a few instances of this occurring on the Marlin rimfire rifles. I did however find a rail made specific for a 3/8" dovetail but it's quite a bit more money than the UTG. Check it out http://www.diproductsinc.com/Detail.aspx?PROD=125157&CAT=3603.Apologies for derailing the Amazon thread ... I don't shop through Amazon since they are based in my state and insist on charging me our ridiculous state sales tax on internet sales, even though the product is usually drop shipped from out of state ... BS! >:(
Michigan Joe
I had no idea what I was doing with respect to knowing that all .22 scope grooves were not the same width. Perhaps you could give this UTG one a try and if it did not work you could eventually use it on another rifle. On my model 60, which has to be at least 30 years old, the adaptor worked like a charm. My problem is that I see double out of my right eye nowadays. I need the red dot optics. I put the target between the two red dots I see. Seems to work. FS2KSTD
From what I have read, the rimfire dovetails have two camps ... the Marlins/US rifles run 3/8" and the euro-type rifles run 11mm? This is over-simplified I'm sure but my knowledge of rimfire rifles is pretty limited. The funny part to this story is the fact that my "reborn" interest in firearms was rekindled when I decided to hunt down parts for the little Marlin 700 ... it had a broken trigger housing from over-tightening the rear screw. That rekindling has cost me thousands of $$$ in new firearms, a new safe and ultimately landed me a job in the AR15 industry as an armorer? All because I found so much joy in tracking down a $30 part for my first ever, purchased new Marlin 700 from Big 5 Sporting Goods, some 20+ years ago. As a sidenote, it seems the 700 is actually worth a little something extra, since it is somewhat rare, as Marlin rimfire rifles go ... it had a pretty limited run specifically for Big 5.Once again, sorry for derailing the Amazon thread.
