imschur Posted February 13, 2011 Report Posted February 13, 2011 In a very rare occurrence here in Connecticut we had a Bobcat pass through the yard at the little womans house today. kind of neat for us around here. We suspect it was drawn to the squirrels and turkeys feeding in the yard. Naturally I had all the cameras at my place.

I followed one at a distance last winter on my snowmobile while he chased down a rabbit ... those "snowshoe" paws of theirs work really well on the snow! :thumb:
rodent.22 Posted February 14, 2011 Report Posted February 14, 2011 We saw a lynx in West Virginia several years ago, a beautiful creature, large with tufted ears. It looked at us a few seconds and then ''puff'' back into the woods....A bobcat was shot about a mile from us here in Va. about five years ago. Pissed me off, these things are rare and beautiful, killing them accomplishes no purpose I can think of. :confused:

I could never justify putting a hole through any big cat? I just don't see the point thrill-killing such a cool critter?

I just don't see the point thrill-killing such a cool critter?Sorry guys but where we are in West Texas we have Bobcats, Mountain lions and coyotes by the bucket load i missed my chance of coyote hunting as i cant get my dam game licence (TDWG keep putting off the date for the 2 day hunter ed course) as here we need a game licence to shoot a fly here. And all the above as well as foxes are shot on site here as we have loads of em and they are getting to be a nuisance. Mountain lion tracks were found less than 500 yards from town and they follow the deer herds so if they are spotted they get shot here.
