Looking for a Llama Mini Max II - Got One!

I was getting excited until I read .45...Gunbroker has 'em for $250 to $300 and higher. Doesn't seem to be much movement on the higher priced ones. However, they seem to be well used. A NIB one should do well. Trying to talk myself into another .45 as we speak. ;D

I was going to clean it up and fire it this weekend, believe it or not. I have a case of 1953 Argentine ammo that I figure it is time I should start shooting up. Why do you want a Mini Max?

I started looking for a 9mm that:

1. Isn't plastic

2. Doesn't cost an arm & leg

3. is 1911 style

Saw a Llama 9mm on another forum and really liked the look, while reading up on them, ran across the mini max.

What do you think about the M57 or cz-82?

I have a CZ 82, and it is a great shooter. I stripped the powder coat, dura coated it and put a set of walnut grips on, and it looks pretty good too. Found a guy that makes a real nice little IWB holster for it, so it is a good CC option. Have never handled the 75. Picture below is after I dura coated it, but the grips are not the walnut ones it ended up with.

TM Here is a couple of pictures, the Bond .45/.410 I added for scale. The Llamas were not rough guns, my Minimax is matte finished.

This Minimax with 9 rounds in the mag and one in the chamber will pull your pants down to your knees, it's all steel and heavy.....The same size as the warthog.

I read that the MinMax .45 can use normal 1911 magazines, even though they would be a little longer than the one built for the gun.  Is that true?

Don't know about that Joe. But I just bought a 9mm minimax on gunbroker for $240.  ;D

Just got the 9mm Llama today! Rodent, either you have REALLY big paws, or your .45 minmax is smaller than my 9mm minimax....

TM how did your 9mm Llama work out? Was it polished or matte finish? :beer:

It is in great shape and shoots great. The finish is..... old. No rust or pitting, trying to decide if I want to dura-coat it or send it our for bluing. Precision Bluing Have been spending way too much time locating extra mags for it, finally found TripleK holsters & mags in San Diego. Ordered two mags, and they fit and function, but they are 1 9mm round too long. So I sent them pictures, and they said keep those, we will make you two new ones. They arrived yesterday, but they don't latch in the pistol - the notch is slightly off. But the gun is accurate, and low felt recoil due to the massive weight of an all steel gun. :thumb:
