Madhouse Posted April 9, 2011 Report Posted April 9, 2011 Maine lawmakers on Wednesday approved legalizing switchblades for people with one arm, moving close to becoming the first state to make such an exception to laws that ban use of the spring-action knives.Full story here.
Microgunner Posted April 9, 2011 Report Posted April 9, 2011 You know, since they're legal here in Florida I assumed they were legal everywhere. I wonder what there is about an automatic knife in Maine's view that makes it any more dangerous that a manually opened knife? I can open my manual knives just about as quickly as my automatic knives. I've never understood this mentality.
imschur Posted April 9, 2011 Report Posted April 9, 2011 Shit their cities that dont allow many traditional knives to be shipped to residents
asmurff Posted April 9, 2011 Report Posted April 9, 2011 My carry knives I can open as fast as an automatic one also. Albuquerque, NM has restrictions on batons and asp, which is why I carry a hickory tire thumper in my truck.
Microgunner Posted April 9, 2011 Report Posted April 9, 2011 Here in Florida they even sell automatic knives at WalMart, only WalMart calls them "assisted opening".
Old Salt Posted April 12, 2011 Report Posted April 12, 2011 They are legal in Arizona. AZ should be called the "Liberty State" because we can carry concealed without a permit, companies cannot stop you from having a firearm in your vehicle in their parking lots, ...etc. etc. It's what every state should be.
Glowin Posted April 14, 2011 Report Posted April 14, 2011 I got a lovely little Boker Forces Tanto folder for Christmas but as the blade locks into place I'd get arrested if I was found to be carrying it in public.Be thankful none of you don't live in the UK! :-[Glowin
asmurff Posted April 14, 2011 Report Posted April 14, 2011 Since out of the 20 to 30 knives I own at least half are folders, of those only one isn't a lock blade and that is the old Hammer pocket knife that was my Grandfathers.
