Ok, I'm a accuracy freak. I like to plink at targets out there a ways... 50, 75, and 100yrds. One of my biggest questions is what kind of groups are you getting with your M&P15/22... at what distance? Open sights / scoped? I'm not expecting MOA but I'd like to be able to place some tightish groups down range.

What's your experience?

My rifle is pretty accurate with decent ammo. Here is a group that was recently shot with CCI's "AR Tactical" ammo at 25 yards with an unmagnified dot sight from an improvised rest. With some optical magnification and a better rest, it would probably do better.

Good input so far .... shows potential for printing decent groups out to near a .22LR's limits. I'll be adding a scope to the package when I place my order. I like to push the edges of these limits just to see what can be done. Its surprising what a 22 can do on a calm day at 100yds. I now need optics to do what I did with open sights 30 years ago though.

I like the looks of the M&P15/22 but wasn't sure the tactical format would do what I want. Then again, I can have a whole lot of fun trying and still have a cool setup. The fun factor actually out weighs any MOA capabilities.

I haven't tried shooting paper at 100 yards for grouping purposes but I do have a 10 inch self-healing target that I can easily hit at 100 yards. I'm using a fairly cheap Barska 4x32 scope and CCI Blazer ammo. I imagine with the right ammo and optics you could get fairly good groups.

Did some scope adjustment this weekend and at ~100 yards we were seeing groups of 5 rounds roughly the diameter of a coke can. This was laying in a truck bed with a bipod using CCI rounds and shooting through a Bushnell Trophy XLT 4-12x40.
