Microgunner Posted April 19, 2012 Report Posted April 19, 2012 First off, am I the only person on this board with a Kimber rimfire? I could find no sub-listing for Kimber.Back to Kimber. I took my Kimber Rimfire Target dedicated .22lr 1911-A1 from my safe for comparison to my new RIA XT22 and noticed, or re-noticed I should say, that the extractor in my Kimber is completely worn out from countless rounds down range. Pistol still works fine unless you're trying to extract a live round and then the problem rears it's head.Could not find the part on Kimber's website so I gave them a call. Now keep in mind that this a pistol purchased new in 2004 or 2005 and has untold rounds down the tube and Kimber simply asked for my address to mail me a replacement extractor and extractor spring free of charge. Thanks Kimber. :thumb:
imschur Posted April 19, 2012 Report Posted April 19, 2012 That is great service. I think you are in fact the only Kimber .22 owner I know
Tal Posted April 19, 2012 Report Posted April 19, 2012 That's great news MG.Do you own the Kimber 1911 with the 22lr conversion, or the straight up 22LR?Just curious...I'm already thinking of one of these for a Christmas gift for myself.
Microgunner Posted April 19, 2012 Author Report Posted April 19, 2012 It's a dedicated .22lr, not a conversion.
Microgunner Posted April 20, 2012 Author Report Posted April 20, 2012 How about some pics brother micro. Can do. Will bring it to work next week.
Microgunner Posted April 26, 2012 Author Report Posted April 26, 2012 How about some pics brother micro. As per unforgiven's request.Kimber Rimfire Target with (2) extra 15-shot aluminum magazines. Pistol is shipped with (1) 10-shot plastic magazine.
Microgunner Posted April 26, 2012 Author Report Posted April 26, 2012 A couple more photos comparing it to my RIA XT-22.The plastic mag on the right is the factory Kimber unit and the plastic mag on the left is the factory RIA unit.
Microgunner Posted April 26, 2012 Author Report Posted April 26, 2012 I want oneYou can borrow mine anytime you like.
Microgunner Posted April 27, 2012 Author Report Posted April 27, 2012 nice- aren't the Kimbers pricy? :beer:It was for me.
imschur Posted April 27, 2012 Report Posted April 27, 2012 I just spent $1000 on a 1992 Olympic Arms stripped lower. >:( Thats pricey. Makes the Kimber a bargain ;D
Microgunner Posted April 27, 2012 Author Report Posted April 27, 2012 Damn...So Daconian Ct laws havn't prevented ownership of "certain" firearms, only made ownership very expensive?Or, translation, laws preventing lower income residents of possessing these "certain" fireams.
Microgunner Posted June 8, 2012 Author Report Posted June 8, 2012 Well eight weeks and two phone calls later and still no extractor.Lots of excuses but no action.
imschur Posted June 9, 2012 Report Posted June 9, 2012 When I ordered grips from them I had to chase them to fulfill the order.
Microgunner Posted July 17, 2012 Author Report Posted July 17, 2012 Well here it is three months and three phone calls later and low and behold I got the extractor and spring. Here's proof. Getting parts from Kimber takes dedication.
Microgunner Posted July 17, 2012 Author Report Posted July 17, 2012 Installed the extractor. Pistol works like new once again. :thumb:
