lmao_37
A couple of weeks ago the dam transmission on my dam Ford Taurus took a shit at the only traffic lights in town ,it wouldnt move forwards or reverse so got the car out of the road with some help and then towed home a friend got hold of a used transmission with 80k on it for $650 so the car turned in to a bastard the engine took 3 days to strip down so it would come out of the top of the engine bay it was fitted through the bottom and I don't have the tools to lift the car like that also got a good price on an engine crane. I finally got the engine out today changed the trans and got the engine back in tonight my wife took the photos as was putting the engine and trans in. techmike
I agree with your opinion of the Taurus. My stepdaughter has one. It leaves little piles of rust in the driveway.
Tal
Anybody in the car design business, should be required, by law, to spend 2 years in a repair shop, before completing their degree. It would give them greater insight to put nuts, bolts, etc..In inaccessable places.

asmurff
I don't know about auto design but I do know a lot of structural engineer and architect programs now require internships with construction companyies, so they understand their designs from the point of view of those who have to build it. Dusty44
Full sympathy. I had to spend too much of my life working on my own cars. It sucks.
