imschur Posted December 6, 2009 Report Posted December 6, 2009 I get regular emails asking where to get these types of optics. Are there knockoffs readily available or just some optics that look kind of similar?
Dangermouse Posted December 6, 2009 Report Posted December 6, 2009 I see a lot being sold on online out of Hong Kong. This is a typical example. You would imagine that they do not stand up to much abuse.I was aware of Leupold copies being sold over 12 months a go, but they appear to have gone quiet - perhaps Leupold shut them down?
Microgunner Posted December 10, 2009 Report Posted December 10, 2009 A customer brought in his AR-15 with a phony EOTECH on it. The EOTECH copy looked like junk and was broken (displaying a double image).
Longitude Zero Posted December 10, 2009 Report Posted December 10, 2009 I have an Aimpoint clone on my GSG-5 and an NcStar unit on my S&W MP15-22.
Cyclone Posted January 9, 2010 Report Posted January 9, 2010 My Dad just picked up a new 10-22 and I bought him a ATI strikeforce stock for it. He also likes the looks of the EoTech 552 but almost dropped dead at the price. I found this knockoff. I kinda figured it cant be any worse than the rest of the low cost red dots and reflex style sights, most are around $50 to $60 and all made in China anyway. Wish us luck :thumb:
imschur Posted January 9, 2010 Author Report Posted January 9, 2010 Hey Cyclone any chance getting a picture of the reticule?
Cyclone Posted January 9, 2010 Report Posted January 9, 2010 I just ordered it. I will get a shot once I get it. Here is a shot off the online listing for now.
Cyclone Posted January 21, 2010 Report Posted January 21, 2010 I received my EoTech 52 knockoff today I cant speak for its performance I hope it will be adequate for a 22. I must say it feels nice not cheap or junky by any means. I hope to get it sighted in this weekend so long as it holds zero I will be happy :thumb:
techmike Posted January 25, 2010 Report Posted January 25, 2010 I was ready to bid on a Walther scope - then I read that is was a knock-off from China. At least the seller was up front!TM
Cyclone Posted April 20, 2010 Report Posted April 20, 2010 Just thought I would post a update on the "552 Knock off" . It is performing well and has no problems thus far, we threw a few hundred more rounds down the 10-22 this weekend. So it seems that it should hold up well on a 22. I mounted a 557 knockoff on my MP 15-22 have not used it yet. I hope to post similar satisfaction with it soon.
