a|ex Posted April 15, 2010 Report Posted April 15, 2010 hello everyone,i'm a new gun owner, Sig 522 and Walther p22 but i've been shooting since i was a kid. fortunately, my kids are now at an age where i feel comfortable teaching them the fun of plinking (yah, that's why i choose the .22 platform, this is an expensive hobby and i don't want to deal with reloads). i'm originally from Ohio and that's where i did most of my shooting. my friends there are gun enthusiasts and they have a nice armory with open fields.a little vent... my kids just recently informed me that some of their friends are no longer allowed to come over our house because of my recent gun purchases. i have to respect their parent's closed mindedness, but it's still upsetting to be labeled a danger to their kids. my future purchases will be accessories for the sig and possibly an M&P 15-22 for my youngest (he's 10 and the sig 522 is too heavy for him). i'm thinking about getting my oldest daughter (17) a walther p99, she enjoys the bang and recoil. my younger daughter (15) prefers revolvers. lastly, my wife likes the p22 (she also grew up shooting pistols and was a navy corpsman).as for me, i'm an unemployed IT consultant but have adjusted to being a domesticated dad while the wife works (nurse).i hope to share information with other sig 522 owners. -a|ex
