Our gun club had a range maintenance day and clean-up today, I went and lent a hand. Repaired targets, picked-up trash, set up shooting postions for the 1000 yard range, then acted as a human surveyers pole as they lined up the shooting positions on the 1000 yard at 900, 800 etc yard shooting berms. Afterwards we had chili made with buffalo meat, cornbread and homemade applesauce. If the wind would have calmed down it would have been better. I'm a bit wind blown and proably burned and I think I washed enough sand off me to fill a cats litterbox. I may need a nap now ::) Actually was a good time. We're getting the range ready for the NEW MEXICO STATE SPORTING CLAYS CHAMPIONSHIP 2011 which will be in July.

Need 1 inch long cleaning brush for breach cleaning
asmurff replied to Plinkster's topic in Colt Umarex General
No I bent it 90 degrees so i could work it thru the ejection port and really work the chamber area, then I clean the whole barrel with a snake fed int through the breech end. Sorry I may not have understood what you were asking. -
I went into the gas station today and asked for five dollars worth of gas..... The clerk farted and gave me a receipt.

I have bent a cleaning brush for cleaning the breech/chamber of my Browning Buckmark Camper and had no problem with bristles coming out. I know not the same gun but I don't think bending would be a problem. -
Glad to have you join, we have lots of fun.

asmurff replied to Michigan Joe's topic in General Talk
Added it to my list of authors I want to try. The list is long so who knows when I'll get to it. -
Now all we need is for more training for my wife in DC, I'd drive that far to look a VMI and their collection.

Oh I knew they were up there I had just never found a use for them. Recently I had been working on my reloading table and had added a second reloader. When I moved the skull to dust under it I knew exactly what I was going to do with it. Now enlarging the hole on it took awhile but it fit well afterwards. The 30mm round looks a bit out of place but what the hell.

I've been doing spring cleaning, today I was dusting some of the higher selves in our sunroom and came across a couple of old mementos: a 30mm Dummy Round given to me by the Fairchild Aircraft people when I was part of the Air Force personal (ground crews and munitions/loaders) who worked with the Fairchild team who took the A-10 Warthogs around NATO to show them off in the late 70s. So I mounted it to the rear corner of my reloading table. I also pull the steel Skull shifter knob from my S10 off that same shelf, after enlarging the hole where it fitted to the shifter, I mounted it onto the pull lever on my Lee Pro 1000 reloader.

Glad to have you, fun is the name of the game.

Well the other option is to restock a 10/22 http://www.eabco.com/m1_carbine_ruger_1022_tribute.htm I'd have to make something to make the magazine look correct. I'll wait and see what the reviews on the Legacy look like.

I agree with the garand version, and I get it also along with the M1 carbine. I may yet order a Garand from CMT. If Congress can force Obama and Clinton to allow the sale and reimportation of these rifles from South Korea, original Garands and Carbines in the US should be plentiful for a year or 3.

I use my desktop Commdore 64 :o, I read the message on Monday ???, reply on Tuesday and get confirmation it was sent on Thursday ::).

Legacy Sports international/Citadel is going to come out with a M1 Carbine clone in .22lr for around $325. http://www.legacysports.com/products/cit_m1.html I sure would like to try one, my next fun gun was going to be to restock a 10/22 into an M1.

I do have .22lr "Action Proving Rimfire Dummy Rounds" from Pachmayr a Warning states: [glow=red,2,300]Action Proving Dummy Rounds are designed to teach safe firearms handling. They are not snap caps. They may be worked through the actions of any 22 long rifle for function testing. Dry firing will deform the head and will limit their use to 4 or 5 hits.[/glow] I use them for loading and malfunction clearing drills when practicing for the Tactical Rimfire matches. If you dry fire onto them it will deform the rims pretty fast, I've forgtten that a couple of times and it does screw up the rim pretty fast. Midway has the ones in TM's pic for $7.99. I'm ordering some now.
