The work knife I carried for 21 years in the Air Force, it is a Gerber lockblade skinner.

I think I'm done for now, I'll let it get distress from everyday usage for a while then put coat of clear matte laquer over it, odd sock was the name my wife and I named an enterprise we start a couple of years ago.

Naw I was thinking the same thing earlier. After all those years of having one, never thought I'd want one after I retired lol. I think just the OD paint distressed will look pretty good, I'll figure out something for the lettering.

I did some searching today and found a a picture of an ammo box I'd like to try and make mine look like.

It appears this has gotten the interest of the NRA also.

So far I only put clear laquer on it, by may yet paint it. I originally had a decal I wanted on it but I couldn't get it to stay stuck. I also thought about using my sign maker jig and routing something into it but I still suck at using it so I keep practicing on scrap wood for now.

It is sturdy I picked it up with 1100 rounds of .45acp earlier and nothing groaned lol :grin: I'm sure I over built I always do.

I finished my first wooden ammo box. While not prefect I was pleased with the way the finger joint jig worked, and I learned enough from my mistakes to do better next time. Plus I've got to come up with some ideas for decorating them my first one didn't work.

Sounds like a good time but with some hard work also.

There was one of thse for 1911s up for aution the other night at the dinner, my wife kept wisphering why don't you bid on it, actually the auctioneer pulled it because the bidding was to low.

The Friends of the NRA dinner was lots of fun and the food was very good. I didn't win the Kimber 84 :-[ but it was won by a guy who has never owned a rifle. I won a pocket knife and an evening with my Hunny buny all dressed up, she cleans up far better than I do! There were lots of other raffles plus live and silent autions. All in all ysterday was a very good day.

Well I didn't find a M-7 Holster for lefties. The guy who runs the biggest surplus booth at all these shows assured me they aren't to be had except in right hand. I did buy a shoulder holster though cost me 20 bucks only and it is comfortable enough and will allow me to carry any of my 1911s or my Berretta 92FS.

I off to the gun show this morning, hoping to find a reasonably priced M-7 holster to wear under my winter coat. Then this evening, my honey bunny and I are going to a "Friends of the NRA Dinner" Hopefully I'll win the Kimber Model 84 .308 >:D

Sick Leave I urgently needed a few days off work, but, I knew the Boss would not allow me to take leave. I thought that maybe if I acted 'Crazy' then he would tell me to take a few days off. So I hung upside-down on the ceiling and made funny noises. My co-worker (who's blonde) asked me what I was doing. I told her that I was pretending to be a light bulb so that the Boss might think I was 'Crazy' and give me a few days off. A few minutes later the Boss came into the office and asked, 'What in the name of good GOD are you doing?' I told him I was a light bulb. He said, 'You are clearly stressed out.' Go home and recuperate for a couple of days.' I jumped down and walked out of the office... When my co-worker (the blonde) followed me, the Boss asked her, '..And where do you think you're going?!' (You're gonna lovethis....) She said, 'I'm going home, too. I can't work in the dark.

I'm trying to get in to the M-4 carbine arena and would like to know opinions on Spikes Tactical, what my gun shop guy showed me today looked good so does their web site.

Is the site having problems it took me forever to get here :confused: or is it my computer?
