There is ammo and components out there, just have to look and keep looking. (Internet) I was checking ammoman everyday, and nothing. Then, Christmas day he had ammo of all types. Didn't last long, but I got a case of .223. Berry's Bullets had stock, have not checked lately, I got a K of .380 and 9mm. (Just checked their website, and it said orders are shipping in 4-6 weeks) I don't load shot shells, so can't speak to that. It's tough, but no one has stopped making ammo, just folk hoarding. I think that will taper off soon. I expect prices to remain high for some time, at least until the back orders are reduced and stock builds up.

I have not actually been to a gun store since well before this started, have been getting most of my reloading components online. Actually have been getting my firearms online also, and just visiting a FFL to complete paperwork, ect. My brother-in-law was over yesterday to pick up a couple AR mags, and he said Gander Mtn. had 3 guns. Also have not been to the range, wanted to go today as I just worked up some new 5.56 rounds, but it is 3 degrees above freaking zero. I want global warming! But I hear what you are saying.

Hi Matt and welcome!

Sucks. My Sweetie was a billing specialist for quite a while, and if the Dr. has a contract with the insurance co., the Dr. has to take what the insurance co. offers. At least in Ohio. I am fighting one now with a chiropractor. They did a test that wasn't covered, they didn't call the ins. company ahead of time to get it approved, the didn't tell me it wasn't pre-approved, and billed me $900, almost a year later. I suggested they urinate up a hemp line, they dropped the "charge" to $300, I told them to piss higher. Received a letter from a collection outfit in December. Fun is just starting. Good luck with yours.

Seems like you could put an ALICE clip on either side of the pouch - that should keep it from wandering around.

I think that would be an excellent scope for your 22!

Hi Justin, and welcome to Tac22. To answer your questions: * Removing the front sight will leave holes in the barrel shroud. The actual barrel on the Colt is a steel tube that is inside the aluminum shroud. I filled the holes in mine with JB Quick weld, sanded smooth after it was cured and Dura Coated the shroud. You could also hit it with a good quality flat black paint if you don't want to mess with Dura Coat. I think that replacing the pins would be OK, but they will stick out a bit. * AR15 handguards do not fit on the Colt. Well, let me qualify that - the free float AR handguards don't fit. (If you have a Colt with a delta ring, I am told that AR hand guards fit those just fine.) The Colt uses an air soft style lower receiver, and the barrel nut threads are different from an AR's. However, I purchased a licensed Troy battle rail for my Colt, (an air soft rail), got it HERE. It works great, it is supposed to be the same alloy and anodizing as mil-spec. I have a Troy rail on my AR and I can't tell the difference - the air soft version is more than adequate for a .22 rifle. * HERE is a link to installation pics - click on the PDF file to see the pictures. Good luck! TM

I am guessing a bit of everything. But I also think it is people / companies that have millions of $ tied up in inventory that may become illegal to own or sell this week. I think it is in large part - sell everything while we can and see what happens next. I am like Mad - had a few things on order in November, but no panic buying. I do have two rifle kits on order, but I do not know if I will ever see them. Spent the last 4 years divesting of all my "odd ball" guns - guns that use an exotic or non main stream ammunition. I am set up to reload for everything in my inventory except rim fire of course.

I am guessing if you are really hurting for a Colt mag, you could order spare parts from Umarex & assemble your own...

Howdy, to you and your wife with good tastes! :thumb:

I had an air soft MP5 single shot when I lived in California - I was plagued by magpies in my back yard tree. I had an a$$wipe neighbor that would call the sheriff if he saw me with a firearm, for instance putting my shotgun in the truck on the way to hunt, so my pellet rifle was not am option. So, got this MP5 thing and was really surprised at the range and accuracy! It would knock feathers from a magpie in the top of the tree, and the sheriff got real tired of my neighbor - no rules against plastic BBs. ;D I have recently acquired a licensed air soft version of a Troy battle rail for my Colt M4 .22. Fits the Colt receiver, (which kinda proves that Umarex is using air soft technology on their .22 rifles), and it is a real high quality item. TM

My daughter thinks it is funny and is posting the link on FB.

That will be fun! Do you still have those extra mags??

Hey PK, Welcome to the forum. As you may have found out by now, the Colt .22s look like an AR, but they are actually based on an airsoft receiver. If you cannot contact Umarex for your parts needs, and I imagine they are as overworked as anyone else in the firearm industry at this time, you might contact Airsoft GI to see if one of their tubes would fit the Colt's receiver. I would suggest first contacting tac22 fellow member vlhoang. He has done extraordinary work on building the Colt's internals into airsoft receivers - send him a PM with your question, I am sure he can hook you up with an answer, and a vender. I ordered my licensed troy battle rail from Airsoft GI, the fit was superb, and it looks and works great. Please post what you find out from vlhoang. and post some pictures of your stock conversion. PS - If you look up vlhoang's posts, you will be able to see pictures of his mods. TM

Aye - good luck!

That looks cool - I had Fire Sights on a Ruger 9mm for a long time - really liked them. Have not seen ones for a rifle before.

Howdy - bet you will have fun with that HK!
