I believe it would depend on who's land you are camping on. If private, you can probably take anything you want. If it is a public campground, check their rules. You will also find some info HERE. While the bears are still in hibernation, I would at least take a shotgun with a slug barrel. TM
FS2KSTD, That Kimber Solo is sweet. You still have your LCP? I sold mine and got a P-238. The dilemma. New gun safe? New Gun? (sigh) Well, seems to me to be an empty space between these, (picture below), and a shorty 9 would seem to fill the ticket. If I carry a full size pistol, it will be a .45. Imschur, thanks for the link to Para - the PDA looks like the ticket, I wish they hadn't bobbed the hammer. bdavison, - The CZ is very nice looking - and CZ makes nice guns - I have an 82 - but, the MSRP of over $1500..... :o TM
Nice looking targets Buddy! If you want the best recoil pad for big boomers, check out Limbsavers! HERE Had one on my 30-06 bolt action and it made all the difference in the world!
Rationalize?? Need?? What is this you speak of? ;D Actually, talk to Asmurf - I think he is involved in some .22 tac shoots where he lives. They sound like fun. TM
Hi Joe, I first started hearing "cheap WalMart ammo" during the great ammo shortage. Walmart didn't always have any to sell, but they didn't jack up the price like everyone else did. The Federal Bulk and BVAC are what I use in my Colt M4. TM
Hmmm, trying to ream the chamber for problems with one box of subsonic ammunition seems a bit drastic to me. Since the rifle is spec'd for standard and high velocity ammunition only, and subsonic tends to be slightly less powerful than standard, I would suspect the action is short cycling. You might try loosening the recoil spring as far possible, or try some different brands of subsonic ammo. I have shot standard velocity ammo with no problems and good accuracy at 35 to 40 yds, but the groups start to open up at 50 yds, so I tend to stick with HV ammo. Something that is unique to rimfire guns is that they can develop a burr in the chamber from dry firing. This burr will cause feeding and extraction issues. It is important to not remove the burr with a file or reamer - you don't want to remove metal from this area. Instead, invest in THIS. TM
