Colt Umarex M4 .22LR Cleaning Instructions
techmike replied to imschur's topic in Colt Umarex General
Thanks for the kind words. Gunny 21 - I actually don't use the factory spring anymore. Go HERE. TM -
That is weird. Ya never know. Back in the 80s I worked with a guy named Bill, he was on my bowling team for 3 years....was friendly with him if not actually friends. Anyway, one day the FBI came to work and cuffed and stuffed Bill. Seems that for 3 or 4 years or so, Bill was scheduling days off from work, driving up to San Francisco and robbing banks. But rapists are just creepy. Once convicted, they should be given to their victims for final punishment.

New member Dutchdiamondback from the Netherlands has mentioned that in his home country the average citizen is limited to 5 heavily registered firearms. So what 5 firearms would you pick if so restricted?
-
You can only have 5 firearms?? "Heavely registered of course." Holy crap. In Ohio, no registration, no limit on the number. I am trying to pick which 5 guns I would pick if I could only have 5......

I want a high quality 1911.
-
I have ordered 3 holsters from FIST. They also do custom work.

Welcome - looking forward to learning about shooting activities in the Netherlands.

What is the trigger pull on the MP5 out of the box? Cause the Colt runs 8 to 10 lbs. My Colt is WAY fun after the Bill Springfield trigger job.

How can the gun companies stay in business?
techmike replied to Michigan Joe's topic in General Talk
I believe one factor in the shift to synthetic materials is the cost of wood. Due to the enviro-wack-jobs, wood is very expensive. Most of our common construction wood in the midwest is imported - from outside the USA. Exotic woods are more difficult to obtain, must preserve the rain forests ya know, and this is all pushing the manufacturers toward plastic. -
Not a bad scope - I have similar Leapers on an air gun. My only complaint is that the reticles are pretty thick.

Sounds good, let's see a pic of that new grip.

Welcome to another Colt owner! :thumb:

Just got a Gallery of Guns ad, with a MSRP of $657, the M16 SPR is going for $360. :thumb:

I think the bulk packs are $20-ish now at WalMart- last time I bought I got 10, and they were $18 each.
-
Just tell her we require your safe return. Best of luck!

Hey Joe - the Federal Bulk packs are different, 36 gn plated hollow points. I got a Chrony for Christmas, so come spring I am going to speed check all of this ammo. TM

I hear ya. I have a Makarov that is at least 15 years old, a carry gun when I lived in Cali, heck it it has been in lakes, dropped, slid down a hill once and it looks better than the Walther did after 3 months. Later that week - after working the gun in and out of the new holster a few times, the front edges of the new slide started getting shiny. Time to order some duracoat!

I have a PK380, really like it. Comfortable, easy to shoot, low recoil. Got it last September, maybe 150 rounds downrange. Got my FIST leather shoulder holster in December. By January the slide's black finish was fading, and all front edges were worn down to bare metal. (I think it had about 24 hours holster time) I took the thing back to Gander Mtn., and they offered to send it back to S&W on their dime. (It's a Walther, but made by Umarex I am told, and distributed by S&W) Just got it back, and the paperwork says they replaced the slide. My question is, how to prevent the same thing from happening again? The slide is some type of steel, as it is attracted by a magnet. The finish is a flat black, that reminds me of soft anodized aluminum. Walther's website calls it "black". (not blued) Walther is reticent on the subject, all I could get via email was: "Hello, the finish does wear on the PK380. Please use a non-ammoniated cleaner on the firearm to prevent abnormal wear. We recommend using Hoppes Elite Cleaner." Ok, but I don't use bore cleaner on the externals. All I had used was Break-Free CLP. The owner's manual simply says to oil the metal parts. I could just dura-coat it matte black, but that would cover up the proof marks, which appear to be silk screened onto the slide. I also thought about using the clear matte dura-coat, but I don't know how that would cover the existing unknown finish. Any ideas? (other than selling it and buying a Para) Thanks!! TM

Welcome to you and your daughter!

But you get mega brownie points for that Sir!

I also have the "Remington" at home. ;D

No one has said that they have. But it is the same trigger pack as the M4. You will really like it if you have it done! TM
