I didn't take any pics before I modded the new grip, a CAA G-27, so I can't do a B-4 & after. The OEM grip is mounted with 1 screw from the bottom. Just make your new grip look like the OEM, with respect to the mounting hole, and the second hole for the hammer strut. It's not a perfect fit, but good enough for me, and much more ergo than the OEM. I can't say if any AR grip will fit, the one I bought fit with the aforementioned mod. TM

Changing hand guard to RIS and removing front sight.

I went a different route - removed the front sight, but used JB weld to fill the holes, sanded and Dura-coated the barrel shroud with semi-matte black. TM -
OK in Ohio - I took an instructor's course when CC became law -that way I don't have to re-take the class. Had one for a while in California, till it became illegal except for politicians and hollywood halfwits. TM

Nothing wrong with blue....... ::) TM

When released, the dust cover was advertised as "non-functional, for cosmetic purposes only". Umarex may have made changes due to complaints. Other than ammo issues, (Remington, and cheaper flavors of Winchester), mine has been a great shooter. About 3500 thru mine. TM

advice on what bits to put on an M4 ops .22?
techmike replied to trapmonkey's topic in Colt Umarex General
No - you need the thread adapter to mount "real" M-4 accessories. It is advertised on the site somewhere - I'll have to find it again. TM Here it is - thread adapter -

Are any of you as tired of earth day as I am??? Obummer and Biden both flew same day from DC to NY on different planes..... Very green. Anyway, Mark Levin linked to this George Carlin video, and it is perfect for "earth day". TM

Yeah - you also have to buy the upgrades every year from GM. I am very surprised that some young enterprising geek hasn't written some software that would interface a laptop to the OBD-II port and remove the need for said scan tool..... TM

Thanks for the help guys. Got it drivable today.... I think I have some air in the ABS module, which the book says you have to have a scan tool II to bleed. ($3495.00) Also the bleed screw in the newest caliper was bad - wouldn't pass fluid when closed, but would suck air.Back to it tomorrow. TM

I understand about the .22/long range. They do have shorter ranges. Also, Folsom Shooting Club used to put on high power weekend shoots. You paid a small fee, and all day Saturday was orientation and training, Sunday was the shoot - we took turns in the target pits, the targets are raised up, then down for scoring and patching, and then shooting. Each shooter was provided with a M-1 Garand, a bandoleer of ammo, and a coach. We got to shoot at 200, 400 and 600 yards - great fun weekend! There was also an outdoor range on Sunrise Blvd., south of Folsom Blvd, East of Mather Field. !00 yd rifle, 25 0r 35 pistol, and they also had a silhouette lane for .rimfire. TM

I was supposed to go to DC for the SAM. Had hotel reservations, ect, ect. Day B-4 leaving my rear brakes went metal to metal. I just had 4 new tires mounted a week ago, Tireman made no mention of impending brake doom..... So, r/r pads, no big deal, but during the test drive, low power, and rt rear starts to smoke. Stuck caliper, common on Blazers.. R/R rt rear caliper, A-OK. So, being the thorough type of wrenching person, I then r/r'd the left rear caliper. Since then I have no brake pedal. No amount of bleeding has cured it. Grrrrrrrr. TM :sniper:

I know it's a drive from Elk Grove - But I always liked the ranges out at Ione. There was a 200 yd range that was fun - no range master. And I used to shoot high power on the 1000 yd range. (I used to live in Rancho Cordova.) You might contact the Folsom Shooting Club for range info. If you are a member, you can also fish the ponds. Good luck! TM

Please let us know - my Colt/Um M-4 measures 10.5 lb trigger pull - after honing. I put a lighter spring in the trigger and it went full auto. Thanks! TM
