Good news about your success. I no longer own a P22 but when I did it worked pretty well. Mine did spit the front sight once and the rear sight was a little wobbly but overall a fun pistol for plinking. Kids loved it due to it's small size and light weight.

I looked up replacement factory magazines for both models and they list the same magazine for both. So I'd guess yes, they accept the same magazines.
