Reminds me of cruise ships. Every time you return to your cabin the staff has made sculptures of towels, your hats, sun glasses etc. Quite entertaining. Makes you want to leave them an even bigger tip, or so they hope.
I've got the pistol and the magazines are standard MecGar double stack .38 Super mags which means they are readily available. I like the 22TCM pistol because the round is very high velocity and fits in a standard pistol grip. For a bolt action rifle I think I'd rather have the 22 Hornet.
Welcome. A whole bunch of little 22 pills delivered to the center of a BG's chest will definately be a life changing experience for the intruder. Most likely will result in the BG reaching room temperature. And the .22lr rifles are so easy to shoot well. I think a 22 semi-auto rifle makes a fine home defense firearm.
I pray these psycopaths blow their own brains out only and leave the children alone. Most times they do, but sometimes the voices convince them to wreak havoc. No explaining or understanding it, they're living in a different world.
The Remington 552 Speedmaster will cycle sub-sonics. It's built to reliably cycle 22 short, 22 long and 22 long rifle interchangably so sub-sonics are not a problem for it. I believe there are others as well.
The S&W utilizes standard AR-15 trigger groups so as far as the hammer striking the centerfire firing pin if a centerfire upper were installed is possible but I'm fairly sure that S&W has made it impossible to install a centerfire upper on their AR-15-22. The Colt, SIG & Mossberg have nothing inside that remotely resembles an AR-15's innards and I have no doubt that a centerfire conversion is impossible.
There are some. The CMMG, the Spike's Tactical, the DPMS (I think) and I'm pretty sure there are others will accept centerfire uppers. Many of the better AR-15 22s are built on standard AR-15 lowers and will accept centerfire uppers. S&W, HK, Mossberg, SIG, Chiappa, Colt (among others) will not accept centerfire uppers.
Sounds like a great time for all. Many folks tend to overclean their rimfires, I used to be one of them. I now just give mine a quick bore cleaning after each session, most times. Detail cleanings I leave for those firearms that begin to malfunction. I believe more wear occurs from disassemly, reassembly and over cleaning than from firing.
