What a beautiful crown. You do it yourself?

I've been playing with the new BG38 for the past week and here are some further impressions & observations. First, the top mounted cylinder release smoothed right out after 50 or so cycles. I'm finding this cylinder latch instinctual to use and doesn't require me to shift my grip to operate it. Second, I oversold that trigger, it's good but weird. It starts off stiffer, then lightens up as you stroke through the full arc. So you have to apply significant pressure at first then the trigger lightens and speeds up. Making for a false sense of ease and making it near impossible to "stack" the trigger. Third, Other than the familiar J frame shape almost nothing else is shared with it's traditional siblings. Such as: the cylinder rotates clockwise, the grips are one piece and held in place with a roll pin. There is no hand, instead, the cylinder is rotated by a star fitting. The barrel shroud in integral with the frame, there is no front cylinder latch detent (so this cylinder is a single lock). The trigger is obviously MIM. But all in all this a very sexy little revolver and is fast becoming a fondling favorite.

Good shooting TM. :thumb:

Me? Maybe the cap off a 5 gal. water bottle, painted day-glow orange. ;D You, I have no doubt you could with a little practice.

I'll assume you're speaking of the Marlin mod. 60. I'd say they're all three on a par with one another. If you're looking for a real bargain the Marlin can't be beat with the Ruger hot on it's heels. The Colt M4-22s weren't built to be a bargain, but rather to satisfy the the wants of many shooters who can afford them and desire them. Bargain wasn't in the formula for the Colt, with the exception of ammo costs.

Sorry your shoot was cancelled. Sporting Clays and it's shortened version, 5-Stand are the most fun I've ever had shooting, maybe. I've gone through as many as 500 rounds of 12 ga. in a day. Talk about a sore shoulder. Thank God they're light loads.

Thanks :thumb:

Thanks, I thought it might be a code for the serial # but it appears far more complex than needed for just a serial #.

Hey, I noticed this printed on digital mark on the underside of my new BG38's topstrap. Any ideas what this is?
-
I linked to their site. What a cool addition.

Welcome Zac. My Colt is reasonably accurate, easily minute of squirrel, and pure fun to shoot on a budget. And you can do dad them up anyway you like. It's a firearm that delivers maximum grins with minimum regrets. You'll like it.

rodent, those hobo knives are the coolest thing I've ever seen. Are those still being made?
-
I first heard of them a year or so ago. Now they're a reality. Very interesting design.
-
Now I'm thinking I need one of these. They are sooooo freaky looking. The videos indicate very little muzzle climb which is the point of the design. I hope these are better built than their 1911-22s. Has anyone heard anything about these?

Seriously Madhouse, I belly laughed.

Thank you, I enjoy fondling this knife very much but I never use it. I carry much more pedestrian knives. This one is for show only (although I'd use it in a pinch).

Is there such a thing?

A guy at work has purchased one. Came in with my new S&W BG38. It's one vicious, medieval looking weapon, and razor sharp too. Scares me just playing with it.
-
It's been awhile since I've seen one. I've always liked them. :thumb:

I own a bunch of knives and this is one of my favorites. It's a handmade Tommy Lee (the knife maker not the drummer) boot dagger in Damascus steel with mastodon tusk ivory scales. It came with a hand made leather sheath. It's quite spectacular.

That's a complete suckfest. I see from your first photo it appears you haven't lost ability to grin. ;D

If I had the cash I think I'd be buying a new firearm every other day. Very cool.
