imschur
Has these new tactical 22's increased your curiosity or probability of owning an AR-15 of some sort?
Madhouse
That's a great question. It was backwards for me. I've been into ARs for a while, so grabbing this .22lr S&W was a no-brainer.
rodent.22
I definately would like an AR, but with the economy the way it is, the back burner is the location for it right now....
Microgunner
I've owned many ARs. The Colt M4 is my first .22lr AR (ish). But, if it had been otherwise I'd find the new .22lr dedicated ARs a gateway drug. Pure fun.
asmurff
I think it definitely could have that effect. Even though my tactical rifle isn't an AR style the fun factor has me questioning my thoughts on purchasing a Garand. Especially because I can reload .223, but not .30-06.Decisions, decisions. imschur
its tough to beat the .223/5.56 for accuracy, low recoil and most importantly cost.
asmurff
I think I'm leaning more and more that way. Not to mention their won't be a learning curve, I do have a lot of experience with one.
imschur
Then there's the ability to easily configure it yourself exactly like you want. The two guys that really brought my shooting interest into obsession mode really grumbled and groaned when I bought my Colt HBAR back in 92-93. It was funny to see then come around after a few outings. Then later to see them actually going out and buying AR-15's of their own. Unfortunately they bought after the AWB when prices where higher. I think my Colt was about $650 which is laughable today
techmike
Yes, But. Not .223. I will build one (eventually) in .308. TM
wad
Hi there,The answer to your question is yes but i wont, the reason for this is i live in england UK and we have really shite gun laws so we are not allowed anything over 22 in semi auto all our other stuff has to be single shot so our ar15 models over here have to be pulled for every shot. You guys in the USA have no idea how lucky you are. Madhouse
You guys in the USA have no idea how lucky you are.We do sir. What is scary is the policies of the people trying to take the U.S on the same course as the U.K. I feel bad for you guys over there. techmike
And we know just how fragile our gun rights are. I lived in Kalifornia for 30 years - it was a constant erosion of rights, new laws, restrictions, ect. I woke up one day to find that the Sacramento County Supervisors had decided to make Sacramento County a "no-shoot zone". 994 square miles, mostly farm land. Can't shoot or hunt anymore. I don't live there anymore.TM
