I'm not a native Texan, but I've been here just shy of 16 years now. "I wasn't born here, but I got here as fast as I could!" Happy Anniversary!
Wandered around the gun show today, saw a guy selling CCI Stingers for $10/50 rds. :o :o Then I found another table that had them for $7.95/50 rds. :o :o Then my buddy txt'd me and said he found them available at Cabelas online for about $75/500 rds shipped. I gave in and had him get me 500 with his order. You can't take it with you I guess...
As with all guns, the only sure safety is the operator. C:-) I have an FNP-9 that has no operable safety mechanisms - no grip, thumb, or trigger safety. It, like the Glocks, have internal safeties the help if the gun is dropped, etc. Carry and storage methods for guns without safeties like this is different, you just don't keep one in the tube. My 1911's are carried / stored in condition one, with the thumb safety engaged. I keep a close eye on the grip and manual thumb safeties to make sure they are doing their job. I think we can all agree that guns themselves cannot be deemed "safe" or "unsafe", as they are just inanimate machines that don't do anything without manipulation by us. It's all about the operator.
This is the exact rifle, from the same seller I got mine from: http://www.gunbroker.com/Auction/ViewItem.aspx?Item=171494655 This is $209, I think I paid $189, but it was a while back.
I've got a Savage bolt gun in .17HMR, it is laser accurate. I'm amazed at how well I can shoot with it. It's a total blast, I could shoot it all day long.
