Welcome aboard! I have the S&W, love it. I've shot the Colt, it's an excellent piece too. Good luck in your choice, none of those would be a bad option.
2-shot sighting method: Bag the rifle, front and rear, settle in real solid. Put the crosshairs dead-center and let one go. Settle back in on dead-center, keep the rifle real solid in the rests and adjust your scope, moving the crosshairs over to where the first shot hit. Let a second one go and see how it works. :thumb:
You know here in Houston we deal with that all summer long 100+ degrees and it's so humid walking is more like swimming. But, I just got back from Redlands, CA, just an hour east of L.A. and it was awesome out there - 70's during the day and 50's at night, and almost no humidity. I could've stayed there until October! :thumb:
