  1. Good lord, hope I don't get bit by THAT bug too!
  2. I know you were asking about scopes specifically, but I run an EOTech on my 522, and can knock down the steel silhouettes at my range out to 100 yards monotonously.
  3. Whoops, found them. http://www.sigsauer.com/SigStore/ShowProductDetails.aspx?categoryid=0&productid=342  Anybody know of any other styles available besides these factory ones? Sig wants $13 shipping!
  4. Where are you guys finding those little rails that attach to the sides of these 522's? I need a set.
  5. Wow, that is nice. http://www.samson-mfg.com/ar-15_html/product/STAR-522.html I think I need one of those. ;D
  6. Ha!

    Hello

Welcome aboard sir! I like your choices in rimfires!
  8. Even more evidence (like we needed it), but I ran a bunch of golden bullets through my Sig 522 yesterday, had about a 20% failure rate. Switched to CCI Velocitors, ran like a champ. Switched to Centurion, ran like a champ. My GSG-5 eats golden bulletts without fail, so I'll use the last of them in it, then never buy it again.
  9. Wow, well I guess if you intended to take a bunch of their classes it might be worth it, maybe. I can't imagine paying an annual fee (basic package) and still paying range fees. I guess it's just that expensive to shoot around there? For comparison: I pay $140 / year at my private range. We have 2 ranges (both outdoor, mind you), one is multiple pistol ranges, plus rimfire ranges. The other is pistol, shotgun, and centerfire ranges all the way out to 1000 yards. We pay nothing betond that $140, and they pay for our NRA RSO class if we want to take it. I know it's apples and oranges, and that indoor range does indeed look very nice!
  10. That's cool, thanks for the recommendation. I have a pair of the Warrior Wear Tanto light hikers and really like them, I wear tham all the time. :thumb:
  11. That sounds great! There was some talk of getting this going at my local range, but I haven't seen anybody start it up yet.
  12. My GSG-5 mags and my S&W M&P 15-22 mags are so much easier to load than the Black Dog mags for my Sig 522. Just personal opion here, but I would rather have the assistance of those thumb studs.

  15. Man, you had me at Kimbers! You will not be disappointed in that pistol. I know, I sound like I drank the Kimber kool-aid, and I have. Tell us after your first range trip that you don't love it, I dare ya. :thumb:

  17. A young Texan grew up wanting to be a law man. He grew up big, 6' 2", strong as a longhorn and fast as a mustang. He could shoot a bottle cap tossed in the air at 40 paces. When he finally became of age he applied to where he had only dreamed of working, the West Texas Sheriff's Department. After a big mess of tests and interviews the Chief Deputy finally called him into his office for the young man's last interview. The Chief Deputy says, "You're a big strong kid and you can really shoot. So far your qualifications all look good. But we have what you call an 'attitude suitability test' that you must take before you can be accepted. "We just don't let anyone carry our badge, Son". Then, sliding a service pistol and a box of ammo across the desk, the Chief says, "Take this pistol and go out and shoot six illegal aliens, six ACLU lawyers, six Democrat Senators, six meth dealers, six Muslim extremists, and a rabbit." "Why the rabbit?" "Great attitude," says the Chief Deputy. "When can you start?"
  18. Opportunity presented itself, so I grabbed another 10/22 today - $160, real nice condition. It's a sickness I tell ya!
  19. Damn!! :thumb:
  20. Welcome fellow Houstonian!! Not sure what part of town you're in, but if you're near the West side, check out this site. It's a private range where I am an RSO. The Addicks range (we have 2) caters to rimfire plinking with steel silhouettes.
  21. Glad to have you, thanks for joining. And thanks for the great write-up! Sounds like this .22 is a keeper!
  22. Went back this morning, asked the girl "can I get 5 of those?" She says, "Yup"
  23. This is too cool... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gD78rTF0Rjo
  24. Just dropped into wally world with the wife and they had stacks of stingers for $5.47 a box. I asked for 10, the girl told me the limit is 2. >:(
