    Cleaning

I keep my guns very clean all the time but was amazed at the amount of crud left in the tank after I got done. I have the smaller Hornady model which is just big enough to hold the bolt, slide and removed barrel in one session and the receiver in a separate one. Most of the grime came from the receiver.

    Cleaning

Just tossed the bolt and barrel of my Browning Buckmark Camper into the sonic cleaner. The receiver will go next. Of all my guns this is the one who gets real finicky if it isn't well cleaned.
  3. U.N. Resolution 2117 lists 21 points dealing with firearms control, but perhaps of most interest is point number 11. It: "CALLS FOR MEMBER STATES TO SUPPORT WEAPONS COLLECTION and DISARMAMENT of all UN countries". By a 53-46 vote - The U.S. Senate voted against the U.N. resolution. HOORAY. This is that brief, glorious moment in history when everyone stands around...reloading. Now, Which 46 Senators Voted to Destroy Us? Well, let their names become known ! See below . If you vote in one of the states listed with these 46 "legis..traitors"... vote against them. In a 53-46 vote, the Senate narrowly passed a measure that will stop the United States from entering into the United Nations Arms Trade Treaty. The Statement of Purpose from the Senate Bill reads: "To uphold Second Amendment rights and prevent the United States from entering into the United Nations Arms Trade Treaty." The U.N. Small Arms Treaty, which has been championed by the Obama Administration, would have effectively placed a global ban on the import and export of small firearms. The ban would have affected all private gun owners in the U.S. and had language that would have implemented an international gun registry, now get this, on all private guns and ammo. Astonishingly, 46 out of our 100 United States Senators were willing to give away our Constitutional rights to a foreign power. Here are the 46 senators who voted to give your rights to the U.N. Baldwin (D-WI) Baucus (D-MT) Bennett (D-CO) Blumenthal (D-CT) Boxer (D-CA) Brown (D-OH) Cantwell (D-WA) Cardin (D-MD) Carper (D-DE) Casey (D-PA) Coons (D-DE) Cowan (D-MA) Durbin (D-IL) Feinstein (D-CA) Franken (D-MN) Gillibrand (D-NY) Harkin (D-IA) Hirono (D-HI) Johnson (D-SD) Kaine (D-VA) King (I-ME) Klobuchar (D-MN) Landrieu (D-LA) Leahy (D-VT) Levin (D-MI) McCaskill (D-MO) Menendez (D-NJ) Merkley (D-OR) Mikulski (D-MD) Murphy (D-CT) Murray (D-WA) Nelson (D-FL) Reed (D-RI) Reid (D-NV) Rockefeller (D-WV) Sanders (I-VT) Schatz (D-HI) Schumer (D-NY) Shaheen (D-NH) Stabenow (D-MI) Udall (D-CO) Udall (D-NM) Warner (D-VA) Warren (D-MA) Whitehouse (D-RI) Wyden (D-OR) Folks: This needs to go viral. These Senators voted to let the UN take OUR guns. They need to lose their next election. We have been betrayed. 46 Senators Voted to Give your 2nd Amendment Constitutional Rights to the U.N.
  4. One day, a very gentle Texas lady was driving across a high bridge in Austin . As she neared the top of the bridge, she noticed a young man fixin’ to jump. ("fixin" in Texas means: has the means or abilities to take action) She stopped her car, rolled down the window and said, "Please don't jump! Think of your dear mother and father." He replied, "My mom and dad are both dead; I'm going to jump." She said, "Well, think of your sweet wife and precious children." He replied, "I'm not married, and I don't have any kids." She said, "Well, then you just remember the Alamo ." He replied, ''What's the Alamo ?'' She replied, ‘’Well, bless your heart! -- You just go ahead and jump you little Yankee Democrat Bastard... You’re holding up traffic!â€

  6. All he had to do was don a Winnie the Pooh costume and be friendly to kids. How did he get fired first day on the job? He put the pants on backwards.

Stock is brand new it has a 2013 mfg. date on the inside. I installed the Holbrook device you recommended TM, very simple to install. Got a chance to go shot it yesterday only problem I had is the windage on the rear sight doesn't appear to be working. No move at all when it is turned. Doing some research now on how to fix it.

Obviously the furniture is new, I was expecting one with some minor flaws at least.

Thanks TM I've saved the site to my favorites. No matter who I've talked about getting the M1 everyone has warmed me about Garand Thumb :o , so I'll take them seriously.

  14. Thanks it was a random thought.
  15. Are there any rifles still which handle all 3 .22 calibers?
  16. I was thinking about getting one, anyone have any experience with them.
  17. This winter has been crazy those who don't want it are still getting it, those of us who'd at least like some of aren't getting any.
  18. I love my 10/22 and shoot once a month in Tactical Rimfire competition against guys shooting the S&W and Colts. I'd stack my 10/22 up against any of the others for reliability. I get out shot most of the time but it isn't the rifles fault.
  19. The rifle is wicked looking :thumb: Did the Troy rail change the balance much? How'd you attach your metal signs to the garage door?
  20. When I'm I suppose to have my mid-life crisis/
  21. I've had good luck with Butler Creek "Steel Lips" but don't get their "Hot Lips" magazines the feed lips wear very fast.
  22. MG, I had an email today from the seller wanting to know if I wanted it replaced or just a refund. I'm going refund.
  23. Tech Mike don't buy one of these, I got mine to work one time for about 15 minutes now nothing even with new batteries. I just sent in a return request from Amazon.
  24. I keep 2 magazines for my carry pistols loaded all the time, and have never had a problem with them, the back-up mags usually stay loaded for about a year at a time, before I shoot it from the mag and replace the ammo. I keep my 25rd 10/22 mags loaded all the time because I'm likely to grab it and go to the range on the spur of the moment, those never stay loaded for longer than a month and have never had a problem.
  25. Out of curiosity does the cerakote curing cause any dangerous fumes, or nasty smells?
