  1. Also I have learned thru the years make it short sweet and to the point. Having had friends in DC in the political arena, the letters that are more than one paragraph generally are quickly looked over and not "read". Also emotional tyrades are pitched to the round file instantly. Since they get hundreds of letters and emails you have 2-3 sentences to get their attention.
  2. Exactely.
  3. Fact of life when supply and demand work their magic. Fear driven demand raises the possibility/certainty of profligate profiteering.
  4. Fortunately I know my Senator and Rep personally. I have already been in contact with them and will maintain close contact. I have no doubt they will stand strong on the 2nd Amendment.
  5. For firearms it is local but with the cost of ammo and accessories I generally buy them online. I know my local shop needs the business but in tough times priorities have to be decided upon.
  6. All of the major firearms manufacturers were behind in production capacity anyway. Ruger stopped taking orders months ago. The local SIG rep told me they are 2 years behind fullfilling orders and have stopped taking them. S&W, Colt etc are all backlogged. Locally ammo is flying off the shelves. I am glad I ordered a good supply and got it before Thanksgiving.
  7. I am really shocked at the number of folks who are unaware that there are officers in over 20,000 schools already. Campus Resource Offices have been in schools for over 4 decades. All that needs to be done on this avenue is to expand the nuymber of schools with them.
  8. I only buy from the manufacturer, local store, or internet business with a long term presence/reputation. Buying form some dolt advertising on the internet you get what you deserve. Sorry but I consider all of the internet gun sales sights that are not a business like Buds, Cabelas etc probably thieves, especially private sellers.
  9. A very good book to read on this subject is titled "One Second After" by William Forstchen. Honestly if you are not easily mobile you are dead IMHO. All these bunker mentality folks I can wait out or I can render your bunker unusable and force you out. And don't make the mistake of thinking I cannot find your hidey hole. It is really a lot easier thatn you think. As to guns stick to mass market calibers. 22LR, 9mm, 45ACP, 223/5.56, 30-06, 30-30 etc. All the goober/orphan calibers are really for fools IMHO.
  10. Where did you find the barrel shroud?
  11. I carried and XD Tactical in 45 on -duty almost since they came out.
  12. I have CCW'd a Kahr CW45 for years and would not trade it for ANY Glock.
  13. Sig P229DE, Sig P224, and eagerly awaiting the Sig P227 a double stack 45 that is said to premier at SHOT 2013.
  14. Looks great.
  15. For the MOSSAD the 22LR was one of their primary assasination weapons of choice for obvious reasons. It was not however the standard duty carry weapon as they had no standard duty carry. The agent carried whatever they felt the mission required. As to the shots to the forehead claim that would only be with a stationary target. You could not do that with a moving target. Frankly nobody could. I would have little problem carrying a 22LR with CCI Stingers as a deep cover CCW but as a primary carry, nope.
  16. I had a similiar dilemma. I went however with the SIG P226-22LR and a 9mm X-Change Caliber Conversion. I got both the gun and caliber kit for less than the price of a P226 9mm by itself. I have had no issues with either the 22 or 9.
  17. Both worked for me.
  18. I tried them in my P226 22LR and it was a big no go. In fact SIG recommends using "high velovity" ammo only. It eats up CCI Stingers and Velociters.
  19. Round two at the range. 450 rounds of CCI Velociter and CCI Stinger combination. This pistol really loves the hot stuff and shoots it very well.
  20. As it advances the atmospheric models show it moving further and further west. Friends in Houston are preparing also for a landfall near Lafayette, LA.
  21. Now if yu had fired a Stey AUG I bet your feelings on bullpups would probably be different. The AUG is my favorite rifle to fire. Sadly they are now too expensive for me to even think about owning one. Oh well I will just keep shooting my uncles.
  22. Did you say you CCW a 22?
  23. Welcome. Might I interest you in trying out an S&W 15-22 instead?
  24. The same could be said for airplane designers. Learjet found out about this the hard way several years ago.
