nothing new...in 1972 I returned from the Phillipines and Thailand. When I landed at March AFB we were warned about the anti-military feeling then current in California. When I got to San Francisco at the airport the hatred in the air could be cut with a knife. I went into the bathroom and changed into civvies, as had been recommended. Since that time I've never taken any fellow citizen's loyalty and patriotism for granted. I think 50% or better of US citizens have NO loyalty to the country. We will collapse from within, I'm sure of it....

I was just talking with my youngest brother about this incident this very morning ... as a Columbia grad he is as ashamed about this incident as I am ... probably more, since it's members of his alma mater that acted so disgraceful towards this vet. SF Airport must have full time protester. One made the mistake of stepping in front of me in 1982 as I was returning from a year in Korea. At the time we weren't actively engage anyone in the world. Anyway this scrawning, pimple face steps in front of me (I'm in Air Force Class "A" dress uniform) and spouts "You're a killer!" I replied "Yelp but I haven't seen my wife and kids in a year and if you don't move you'll be my next victim." I'd left my base in Korea over 24 hours before, had a severe cold and was short on time to make a connecting flight, so I was in a foul mood to say the least. So either the look on my face made him realize I was seroius or is was just a coward but he moved real quick.

The Vet made a statement today, saying the press blow it out of proportion (imagine that) and it was only a few hecklers. Which makes him a bigger man than both the hecklers and the media!!! :thumb:

I say round up the hecklers and send them to Ft Bragg for a weekend of orientation. bawahaha!
