imschur Posted July 17, 2011 Report Posted July 17, 2011 It was a pretty costly adventure but I wanted to get it done as there's talks of Obama doing something about class III and NFA firearms. The guy I bought the Suppressors from is Major Malfunction. It should take about two weeks for him and my FFL to get approval on the transfers. Once the transfers are complete I need to do the form 4 for each. Thats $200 per tax stamp. If all goes well I should have the suppressors in hand late October early November.I bought the following:AAC Ti-RANT 45 (.45acp)AAC 762-SDN-6 (7.62,6.8,5.56)Silencerco Sparrow (.22lr)While I can use a few of them for multiple calibers it is not as effective as using one of the correct caliber. Should I financially and legally be able to I wouldnt mind a dedicated 5.56 and maybe a 40 or 9mm
Microgunner Posted July 17, 2011 Report Posted July 17, 2011 Unseen by you, my jaw has dropped open and is resting on the desk top whilst drool is severely damaging my keyboard. When you play you play for real. So, have you decided on a .45 host yet?
imschur Posted July 17, 2011 Author Report Posted July 17, 2011 I did decide on a barrel thread. So that steers me towards the FNP and Sig unless that portion of the Ti-Rant can be changed. I want the HK but the thread .578-28 of the other two seems to be more common (especially on 1911's)
imschur Posted August 12, 2011 Author Report Posted August 12, 2011 Well obviously I went with the FN. I am still waiting on the approval for Major Malfunction to ship my suppressors to my dealer. It's been nearly one month.I may go to my dealer week after next and see if he has anything in stock just to get something going with the feds.
Tal Posted August 12, 2011 Report Posted August 12, 2011 WOW....And I thought I was spending some bread...Sounds cool buddy!!! 8)
imschur Posted August 12, 2011 Author Report Posted August 12, 2011 Three suppressors, FNP 45, Attorney fees. I still need to get two quick detach muzzle devices that are $100 each, threaded .22 barrel, three tax stamps and three transfer fees. This is a financial nightmare but at least it will last a life time and none of it loses it's value. I am buying my retirement toys now.

bdavison Posted August 14, 2011 Report Posted August 14, 2011 You wont regret it...so which ones did you get? Gemtech, AAC, Knights Armament?
imschur Posted August 14, 2011 Author Report Posted August 14, 2011 AAC Ti-RANT 45, AAC 7.62-SDN-6, Silencerco Sparrow
bdavison Posted August 15, 2011 Report Posted August 15, 2011 You gotta do a review on the sparrow...im curious about it compared to the gemtech outback II
imschur Posted August 24, 2011 Author Report Posted August 24, 2011 The suppressors are at my dealer. Will do the ATF paperwork tomorrow. While there Im probably going to order a 1911 frame for my Wilson/Marvel slide. I have been on the edge between Caspian and Wilson. Wilson is the way I want it but the Caspian will let me have a custom serial number which means a lot to me right now.Anyhow if nothing goes wrong I should have my tax stamps by Christmas. Depending on how much some recent Vet bills are I may have to wait until October for the Model 41 threaded barrel from Clark Custom.
imschur Posted August 24, 2011 Author Report Posted August 24, 2011 crap I ordered another suppressor....I didnt see that comingAAC M4 2000

imschur Posted August 26, 2011 Author Report Posted August 26, 2011 Are we going to have to have an intervention with you!?!?!?!?I think so.The little woman asked if I bought a gun. It felt great to honestly say "No"

imschur Posted September 22, 2011 Author Report Posted September 22, 2011 Well the AAC M4 2000 is in at the dealers. Probably head up within the next week and fill out the federal forms.
imschur Posted January 22, 2012 Author Report Posted January 22, 2012 Well 4 months on three of the suppressors and still no word from the Feds... :-[
Microgunner Posted January 22, 2012 Report Posted January 22, 2012 The guvment just loves screwing with you. They're probably sitting around, looking at your application and laughing their asses off with that God like feeling of control over you.I mean, for Christ's sake, it's a piece of hearing protection equipment.
lmao_37 Posted January 23, 2012 Report Posted January 23, 2012 for Christ's sake, it's a piece of hearing protection equipment.Well here in Texas there is a complete ban on suppressors it really sucks i was thinking of fitting one to my mosin until i spoke to a local deputy and he informed me of the law here >:(
