Microgunner Posted September 22, 2011 Report Posted September 22, 2011 A Chiappa Rhino, 2", DAO is on it's way from Zander's.Comes with a leather holster.Been waiting on this one for awhile. WooHoo.
wobblinwheel Posted September 22, 2011 Report Posted September 22, 2011 I already know I'm stoopid, but what's a DAO?
Microgunner Posted September 22, 2011 Author Report Posted September 22, 2011 Double Action Only for a trigger cocking only firearm. No thumb cocking provision.
wobblinwheel Posted September 22, 2011 Report Posted September 22, 2011 Thanks for the info! I know I can be a real DA, and a SMF sometimes.....and a real PITA!
Microgunner Posted September 29, 2011 Author Report Posted September 29, 2011 Revolver arrived Mon. My first day at work today. This revolver is nice, much nicer than I dared to hope after my less than optimal experience with the Chiappa 1911-22.The frame is Ergal alloy (7075 aluminum) giving the revolver a weight of 24oz.It's, thankfully, much smaller than the photos led me to believe. The early production trigger woes have been corrected with a very smooth 8lb DA trigger pull. I can easily live with this.Even with the odd configuration this revolver snuggles comfortably in my hand, feeling right at home. The fit and finish is very good as well. The leather holster appears well made and serviceable. Looks good too. This is definitely a handgun from a James Cameron movie set. I like it.Here it is compared to my S&W BG38.
asmurff Posted September 29, 2011 Report Posted September 29, 2011 Looks good, the holster surprised me. I guess when you come out with something so different for concealed cary you'd have to provide a holster to get people to carry them. Although I think I may have seen some Rhino holsters on the market.
Tal Posted September 29, 2011 Report Posted September 29, 2011 I've been looking at the Rhino..It's the "Different" factor, that's kind of got me now. Let us know how it does on the range. Great Photos!!!
imschur Posted September 29, 2011 Report Posted September 29, 2011 Hey thats cool. I was surprised you took a chance on these guys ;D
wobblinwheel Posted September 29, 2011 Report Posted September 29, 2011 Stoopid me again, what calibre is it? Looks like a BIG HOLE!
Microgunner Posted September 29, 2011 Author Report Posted September 29, 2011 Stoopid me again, what calibre is it? Looks like a BIG HOLE!.357MAG
Microgunner Posted September 30, 2011 Author Report Posted September 30, 2011 Just shot the new Rhino for the first time with Remington Golden Saber 125grn JHP.357mags. OMG!!!Almost no recoil at all. I've fired .38 wadcutter target loads from 4" bbls that recoiled more than this. It's absolutely amazing! If it wasn't for the substantial report I'd never know I was shooting a .357.I'm sold!
lmao_37 Posted October 1, 2011 Report Posted October 1, 2011 I like the look of that happy shooting :thumb:
Microgunner Posted October 1, 2011 Author Report Posted October 1, 2011 Hey thats cool. I was surprised you took a chance on these guys ;DYeah I'm kinda stupid and a sucker for "something different".I may have lucked out with this one.
