Modern sighting systems for the AR platform (among others) allows for co-witnessing of the iron sights with the 1x optic. In other words, the iron sights see right through and align perfectly with the optics dot. This very fast and instinctual to use. I don't use magnifying optics on my tactical style rifles, only 1x. I use magnifying optics on rifles built specifically for longer range shots. Just the way I see it.
Welcome. I own a CMMG Sierra upper with standard everything and so far it's run very well. The only ammo I've run through mine so far is CCI HV, one of my favorites. My experience so far is positive.
Yes, centrifugal force would cause the shot pattern to spread from a rifled shotgun barrel IMO. Also, only shoot sabot slugs from a rifled shotgun barrel, not rifled (Breneke type) slugs.
I'd like to have one just "because" but, I already own a boat load of .22 revolvers, many of which I've haven't gotten around to shooting yet. I'll wait for one to pop up here a the pawn shop and then decide.
I think I'd move that gas block forward just a enough to get the riser fully back on the gas block. As a side effect, this would also give you a slightly longer sight radius.
Welcome. Anything we can help you with, just ask. Any information you can add, please feel free to post. Of course, we can always just shoot the breeze too. :thumb:
I own two Anschutzes now and used to own a third and have to say that all three have been nothing short of stellar, so maybe this new rifle will live up to the standard. I'll have to wait and see.
