I was given some guns today from an aging, ailing friend.  Several of these were rimfires.  Here is the challenge:

Where do you find the serial number on a Remington Scoremaster model 511?

Might have solved it.  Found this on Wikipedia:

As the Scoremaster 511 was manufactured before 1968, these rifles do not have serial numbers. A two or three letter date code (indicating manufacture date) is stamped on left side of the barrel next to the receiver.

Mine is stamped 30!

At this point, I have no idea what happened, but the pics showed up.  :confused:

The NRA "Offical Guide Firearms Assembly" Rifle and Shotgun does include the 511. So is the Savage Model 1903 Slide Action. The 1903 was dicontinued in 1921.

Rodent, when I look at this photo all I can think is "poor fence post  :confused:"

Nah, man - that right there is a BOFUS.

If she falls off that fencepost, it's gonna take BOFUS to get her back up...  :confused:
