  1. Mine would be, being in the same room with a dumb-ass who had an accidental discharge with his M-16 on full auto. Luckily no one was hurt, messed up the roof of the prefab building we had. He ended up with a bad conduct discharge after his Courts Martial.
  2. I just discovered TechSights makes a set of sights for my Marlin 925. Very interesting. http://www.tech-sights.com/
  3. I think I'm I'm going to do at least one Stage of our Tactical Rimfire match next weekend with the Spikes and the other 2 with my 10/22.
  4. I want to do an Appleseed shoot and build a 10/22 with a M1 carbine stock and tech sightson it.
  5. I went to the range today to function test my Spike's Tactical-15 with the CMMG Evolution Conversion in it. Happily I can report I din not have a single malfuntion of any kind. I ordered CMMG's magazine loader because loading the mags last night was a bear.
  6. Another.
  7. I replaced the whole trigger assembly after 2 incidents of full auto.
  8. The Honor one has always been one of my favorites. GIs are always willing to help children in both war and peace.
  9. I had not had time to get my Spikes ST-15 ready for shooting with the CMMG Evolution Conversion kit. After I get the magazines prepped I'll be ready to go for a range trip tomorrow. Honestly, telling me to take a file or sandpaper to the bosses on the rear of the mags slightly freaked me out. I've finished the first one and am now ready to do the other 2. At first if I got the mag fully seated before sanding the bosses I had to use a dowel and small mallet to tap them back out, no amount of pulling was going to get it out.
  10. From a story in the Scotsman: A unique triple-barrelled shotgun made for a Scots aristocrat has been sold at auction for £43,000 (then $66,000). The shotgun - dubbed the "Holy Grail" - was made in April 1891 for John Adrian Louis Hope, 1st Marquess of Linlithgow and the seventh Earl of Hopetoun. The three-barrelled ejector, 16-bore gun, with three triggers, was designed by renowned Edinburgh gun makers John Dickson & Son and is the only one of its kind. Its origins were identified after the gun was taken to a valuing event at Hopetoun House, South Queensferry, and it has now been sold at Holt's auction in London, to a private collector, after fierce bidding from around the world. Holt's founder, Nicholas Holt, said: "This is completely unique - the holy grail for any shotgun collector. "The gun maker, which still exists in Edinburgh, looked back in their records and found this was the only single 16-bore, round action side by side by side ejector ever made. The mechanism was too complex to make more, but it still works fantastically well today and is capable of shooting three gamebirds with its three barrels."
  11. I finally got it all put together and attached to the table. Works very well now I can quickly change out the press which is at the front of the table, just loosen 4 screws a bit, and pull out an indexing pin. I've already got the required bases on both of my progressives, the single stage press and the powder measure. I plan on making bases for the RCBS trimmer and the Shotgun press.
  12. another
  13. Nope my wife saw a post someplace about the scam taking place at Home Depot and I'm banned from all of them now :-[
  14. Shameless stolen CTD forum Beretta Blog-by Phil McNaughton- Guest Contributor-A few thoughts and theories from my time on the trigger, in no particular order... I shoot faster when I slow down. Brussels sprouts make great targets.Your worst day at the range is still better than your best day at the office. Unless you work at the range. Then you are just lucky, and I hate you. When you leave the range, nobody will remember how accurate you were, or how fast you were. Everyone will remember how safe you were. Shooting is universal. Lots of folks do it; lots of folks want to do it. You may be surprised at who you meet at the range. You may be surprised at who is waiting for you to take them to the range. Real shooters know guns. Hollywood doesn’t. Learn from the former. Don’t leave the gun shop empty handed. Safety doesn’t take a backseat to experience. My Beretta will function in rain, snow, sub zero, or triple digit temperatures. I may not. They are called “sights†for a reason. See them. Empty brass is more valuable than gold. You can never have enough magazines. Sooner or later you will have a box full of holsters that you don’t wear, or don’t have guns for anymore. People will buy a gun simply because it looks cool. The gun you bought today will be on sale next weekend. The only thing you should take seriously at the range is safety. Everything else is just fun. The day I stopped worrying about scores is the day I became a better shooter. There is no such thing as a “double tap.†Pay attention to the sights with every shot. Dry fire until your fingers bleed. Get bandages and start again. Someday when you are working on your favorite gun, that little spring will fly across the room into oblivion. You will buy parts for guns that you don’t own. Sometimes steel plates will stay standing after a hit. Just because they hate you. My shooting buddies are not really friends. They are family. Shooting soda cans is more fun when they are full. And shaken. There will always be one clay bird that refuses to break. Don’t let it win. Go find it. Then step on it. Practice the things that you don’t like to do. Chances are you need it. Introduce someone new to the firearms hobby. Every chance you get. If you wear a tank top at the range, you will inevitably get burned. In places you don't want to be burned. It doesn’t matter what gun you shoot, somebody will make fun it. Practice. Do it a lot. Do it often. Do it safely. A guy loves to watch a girl, shoot the larger the breast and the heavier the recoil the better. Unless the girl is a better shooter than he is. Spend less time talking about shooting, and more time doing it.
  15. The 10/22 stocks are getting wild Brownells has one from Troy. Pretty cool!
  16. He needed a rubber chicken for close defense, they can be used as a bludgeon. >:D
  17. I'd agree with the 10/22, or a bolt action .22 since you are just starting,
  18. Will do, but didn't get started I was Shanghied and wasted 4 hours tagging along while they shopped.
  19. This is what I call my signature dish. You can switch out the veggies for any kind of veggies you like grilled. 4410_8747e6aae29bf4182fde2bdb922e3353d21e29b8.doc
  20. The NRA "Offical Guide Firearms Assembly" Rifle and Shotgun does include the 511. So is the Savage Model 1903 Slide Action. The 1903 was dicontinued in 1921.
  21. All the .308 reloading gear I ordered came in yesterday. I included the Lee quick change press set up with enough bases for my other 2 presses as well. Wife and her daughter are doing something today so I'll get a chance to get at least started on mounting it all on my table.
  22. The jewelry box is a neat idea. Or A tin gift card box with reservation paper/tickets to a romantic getaway weekend.
  23. Oh the bi-pod is a cheapo sold at Walmart, it works so I guess I'll just leave it for now.
  24. Welcome to the group.
  25. I have .22 Marlin bolt action and finding any aftermarket for it is difficult.
