lmao_37 Posted May 9, 2010 Report Posted May 9, 2010 as a newbie to the U.S.A. and i am a gun owner should i join the NRA, as i was born in the uk i have very little knowledge of the NRA but i was wanting to know what are the benefits of joining
Madhouse Posted May 9, 2010 Report Posted May 9, 2010 The NRA does have its faults, no doubt, but it is the largest gun lobby organization we have and is largely responsible for many of the freedoms we've either retained or won back. Their membership number also carries some weight with our government. So, my vote is yes, please do. :thumb:
Madhouse Posted May 9, 2010 Report Posted May 9, 2010 Forgot to mention, there should also be a state-level branch of the NRA where you live.
techmike Posted May 10, 2010 Report Posted May 10, 2010 I have been a Life Member for a long time, also a NRA instructor. I do get tired of the constant fund raising, but it is for a GREAT cause. Try it for a year, if you like it, please consider life membership. :thumb: TM
lmao_37 Posted May 10, 2010 Author Report Posted May 10, 2010 ok i will join i just thought i would ask :thumb:
asmurff Posted May 10, 2010 Report Posted May 10, 2010 ditto on what they said join and do try to find your state level group also
imschur Posted May 10, 2010 Report Posted May 10, 2010 yep they arent perfect but they are the best we got. I have been a life member since age 21. I still toss them additional cash every now and then.Keep in mind they will spam you on every front, just need to ignore it. Supposedly there a way to opt out of their soliciting
Longitude Zero Posted May 10, 2010 Report Posted May 10, 2010 I agree, they have their faults but without them we would be weaponless now. Join and support them.
asmurff Posted May 10, 2010 Report Posted May 10, 2010 That is one of the reason I like Brownells and several others who let you tack on a few bucks for the NRA with each order. The NRA has a tool bar also and you can funnel money their way by just doing searches.
Cyclone Posted May 11, 2010 Report Posted May 11, 2010 I agree, they have their faults but without them we would be weaponless now. Join and support them. +1 on that

Sam 8 Posted May 11, 2010 Report Posted May 11, 2010 I've been a member for many years, too many to count.Although I am not always happy with every move they make, the truth is we would have lost many more rights without the NRA. The NRA tends to keep a watchful on on peoplewho need it.When not happy, I always write an email to voice my concern, and I educate myself about the NRA elections to try to support those who seem most likely to share my views. It all comes down to involvement.
Microgunner Posted May 13, 2010 Report Posted May 13, 2010 ok i will join i just thought i would ask :thumb:Great news. :thumb:
